Chapter Author: YouAreNowIncognito
“Are you going to be quiet forever?”
“I'm still mad at you."
Ever since he got Angi by his side, he had no current goal. Nowhere to go. He couldn't attack any shifters when she was there. They just walked. Delmar was still confused about his feelings towards her, but he felt better now when Angi was there again. Even better now when she walked beside him instead of following at a distance.
“Do you want to hunt?”
“I’m not hungry…”
Sure, she was still mad at him but at least he tried to be friendly.
“Did I tell you about the time I left the shifter society? Haha man, I would have loved to see that face on Reed again"
Angi didn't answer she just kept on walking. Delmar looked at her and hoped to see some reaction, some curiosity.
“No, you did not,” she answered with a hollow voice.
“I…”
“No, I don't want to hear.”
“Oh, okay.” Delmar looked disappointed. She finally looked at him.
“Sorry darling, I'm not in the mood" She gave him an effortless smile. “Maybe another time"
She continued walking. Delmar stopped.
“Where are we even going?” He lay down and started to roll around in the autumn leaves in a playful manner. He was in a splendid mood. “We could just stay here.”
She turned around to look at him.
“I want to put some distance between you and my pack."
“Geez, how long are you going to stay mad at me?”
“Until you proved you're not going to pull a stunt attacking my pack like that again"
“How can I even do that?” Delmar rolled over again. “I'm not a trustworthy person”
“I'm sorry but I don't take lightly on you hurting my family" she said. Man, what a pain she was.
“Come on we better get going” She turned around and continued to walk.
“Nah I think I'll stay here for a while.” Delmar lay back in the grass with his stomach up in the air. A layer of frost spread on the grass and leaves around him.
“You act like a pup" she said irritated and stopped again. Delmar smiled.
“What ya gonna do about it?”
Angi just looked at him for a while then she sighed. She lay down fifteen meters away from him keeping him under strict surveillance.
Delmar enjoyed himself. Angi was there and had promised not to leave his side, the autumn sun warmed his stomach and the birds were singing. It was very peaceful. He didn't have a single thought of beating anyone up. He hummed on some human song that had been popular a hundred years ago. Suddenly he looked up in to the trees, wasn't the birdsong a bit strange?
“Delmar, Delmar" a blackbird sang. It looked down at him. Its black eyes were filled with intelligence.
A shifter? he thought. The bird flew down and landed on his snout.
“Are you Delmar?” It asked. He looked surprised at it.
“Yes, and who may you be?”
“I'm Alpha. I have a message for you.”
“From whom?”
“My master.”
Angi looked at the blue wolf crawling around in the grass. At least he didn't seem threatening anymore. Now he was rather childish and stubborn instead. She didn’t want to forgive him but he was still a rather interesting creature. Now he even seemed happy. It was irritating, he didn't want to go anywhere but she couldn't really do anything to force him. Hopefully he would get bored with his silly games soon and they could move on. Suddenly, a bird landed on his nose. Angi had never seen any bird act like that before. They seemed to talk but she was too far away to hear anything. Delmar rose and the bird landed on the ground instead. He looked concerned. She decided to get closer and listen to what it had to say. But as soon as she rose it lifted and flew away. Delmar looked at her, he didn't look happy anymore. She walked up to him.
“I have to go to the human city," he said.
“Okay?”
“I'm afraid you can't come with me.” He looked sincerely.
“I'm not leaving you,” she said irritated.
“I promise I'll come back when I'm done. You can't come into the city."
“Try and stop me. I'm not leaving you unguarded. As you just said, you're not a trustworthy person.”
“People will freak out if they see a wolf strolling down the street"
“I'll pretend to be a dog, how hard can it be? I've done it before."
“Don't you see? It's an urgent shifter matter, you can't come cause you're not a shifter," Delmar rambled. Angi looked insulted.
“Wherever you go, I go," she said decisively. Delmar sighed.
“I really don't want to do this, please don't be madder at me than you already are…” He said, leapt into the forest and ran off as fast as he could.
“Damn it, not again" She rushed after him.
