This is what happens when you turn into a Fur Seal while leaning over a punch bowl. (Bowl angle is off and floor panels are going the wrong way, but does that honestly matter in the long run?)
For newcomers, this might seem like a random thing to do to Night, but it's actually a thing in the main story. Lu was testing a new spell on Night (a while before the start of the story) and accidentally zapped him into a seal. (And specifically, he's a Northern Fur Seal because they don't eat penguins.) She was able to mostly turn him back to normal, but a side effect is that every two weeks he either turns into a seal or back into a penguin. They're still working on finding/making a proper counter-spell
