I went there over the summer, from Scotland. Not prepared for anything except possibly how absurdly expensive everything is. It had some nice places, and it was actually pretty easy to sleep (despite the sun going below the horizon for all of 1 hour). Reykjavik (pronounced RAKE-ee-uh-Vick) had a very good soup place, amazing yogurt, and good views.

However the highs were in the low 50s. So in the soup place, it was pretty small. Every single time someone came in, a very noticeable chill went through the air. So even eating very good, hot soup, wrapped in a winter coat, I was cold. And there were still people who were walking around in this weather with short shorts, a tank top, and flip flops, which doesn’t strike me as very safe. There were tons of jellies, which were cute and an amazing sight, but still jellies.

If anyone goes there, I would recommend a small soup shop with bread bowls in the downtown area, Creme Brûlée skyr (skeer) and a very thick winter coat.

Maybe two.

I won’t discourage anyone from going there, it was a great place, but summer in Iceland seems to last only an hour.
