What drives the Self?

Is it the desire to forge bonds of friendship and familiarity?

No, for so often we break those, or let them grow lax.

Is it to be stronger and mightier than those around us?

No, for strength is nebulous and often fleeting, and there are always those who are stronger.

Is it to be witty and more clever than ones we know?

No, for in time we grow barbed tongues and minds that hurt more than they entertain.

Is it to work harder and be more dedicated to our craft than all others?

No, for the mind and body grow weary over time, even of the things we excel at.

So what drives the Self?

The answer is All Things. Any Things. Ever Changing things.

And so we must embrace change, and embrace that which facilitates change.
