Chapter author: YouAreNowIncognito
Since Nuclear's exposition in the forest the atmosphere was tense between the energy shifters. Delmar could sense there was a conflict which had been going on for a while. The whole fact Nuclear seemed to be suppressed by the others and the fact he never shifted except in the forest when he let the explosion go off. Delmar wanted to check up what had happened in their memories. But after the last time he used his psychic powers on Black Hole he had no desire trying them out again just yet. He wanted to rest, the interesting conflict could wait. They had just got back into the apartment. Nuclear hid himself under the sofa and refused to come out. Gravity walked worried around.
“They’re planning a revolution? Are they mad? What about the gods?”
“They don't believe in the gods, they think you've made them up to regain your control over the shifter society.” Delmar answered.
“We’ve made them up…? You young people should consider yourself lucky you've never encountered them! Just because we're lucky and they fell for our charade doesn't it mean were safe! Radiation if you don't believe me you could ask your own second in command Askr what he think them.”
“Calm down, I believe in the gods. There’s no need to insult me!”
“Stop it both of you!” Neutron stepped in between. “There’s no one here questioning what you experienced at the war at the beginning of time Gravity! And Radiation, it was a bad idea to let Nuclear use his powers. Okay? Drop it, both of you! We have other problems right now. Isn’t it better we ask Delmar what information he found instead of arguing?” Delmar wouldn't have minded watching them arguing a bit more, it was interesting watching these godlike beings argue like any other persons. He sat in his human form in the sofa, Angi lay beside with her head in his lap.
“You’re right as usual Neutron…” Gravity sighed. “So what new information did you find Delmar?”
Delmar told them about what he had found, about Black Holes old memories and his new ones. The fact no one seemed to remember him and his theories about the conspiracy towards him and the other black shifters. The revolution they planned and the opinions they had about the energy shifters and the gods. He told them about the few things he had found out about the other black shifters as well, their names and their elements. Gravity sat down and listened concentrated. Finally Delmar told them about the dark shadow he had seen that caused both him and Black Hole to scream. Gravity looked upset.
“Tell me more about this shadow figure!”
“There’s nothing more to say really, a big dark shadow with two white dots as eyes. I don't know what it was. Probably some weird part of his mind. As I said, that guy seems completely insane by the look of his mind.
“I hope you're right." Gravity rose again. “We have two things we need to do right now. Gather the rest of the council and check up on the new names we got. I propose we start talking with Chemical, then we can check the archives at the chemical faction at the same time. Neutron, you and Delmar can check the archive so can we go and talk to Chemical.”
“Didn’t you hear what I said last time?! I’m not going to the chemical faction! It would be like asking them to arrest me!” Delmar said upset.
“Calm down, no one is going to arrest you. Neutron will see to that.” He looked sternly at Neutron.
“Whatever” Neutron answered.
“No! I’m not going!”
“Delmar it was a mistake not to bring you last time. You have all the firsthand information and you know their names and faces. I’m afraid this is not up to discussion, you are coming.”
After a lot of convincing and a promise of letting Delmar and Angi return to the forest a while afterwards he agreed of following to the archive. He had no interest in sitting in long meetings about tactics and plans for the future and he was already sick of the city. He agreed that they would stay close to New Devantos in case they needed his psychic powers again.
“Aren’t you warm with all those clothes? You look like a mummy.” Neutron said amused while they strolled down the chemical halls. Delmar had made his best to cover himself up, he had his scarf covering the most of of his face. There was only two glowing eyes angrily peeking out between the fabrics.
“I got enemies here, I don’t want them to recognize me. And trust me you don’t want to be blue in these halls. The people here aren’t directly friendly towards weaker shifters.” he gnarled. Neutron just laughed at him, he had obviously no experience of being bullied by the chemical shifters. Every time someone walked past them Delmar tried to hide himself behind Neutron. Luckily they didn't encounter anyone he knew on their way to the library. Neutron opened the doors and showed Delmar into the library.
“Hi Shrapnel, this is Delmar. He needs to check up some different shifters in your archive. Give him everything asks for.” A very tall male looked surprised up from a book he was reading.
“I'm going to show Angi around in the building in the meantime. I bet she wants to see some fine shifter architecture.” Neutron closed the door behind Delmar before he managed to protest and left him alone with this chemical stranger.
