It was well after nine-thirty by the time we got there. There were crowds of people, all waiting for a ticket in. On the other side, there were cars trying to enter. I walked on through, paid for the tickets with my own money, and walked Wilson over to the theater. There were many rows of seats, all rising up toward the ceiling of the building where all of the confections were. We sat down around the top and stared at the screen. Wilson seemed to be looking down at something else other than the movie. It seemed important, after all, the movie was basically a bunch of girls in bikinis and some surfer dudes.
I looked down and I managed to see what he was looking at. A tall black haired dude was waving at Wilson and I. He seemed familiar since he had some ear piercings and a black leather jacket. I soon realized that this was my good friend Hawke. He made his way up to us and sat himself down next to us. He was eighteen, and yet he hung around kids who were about two to three years apart from him.
I turned to him and rested my elbows on my knees. "Why're you here anyway, Hawke?" He was supposed to be at work by now. He works as a lawyer on the other side of town. "Aren't you supposed to be at work?"
"I got someone to take the case for me." Hawke brushed his hair back with his free hand. "Gave me the day off...probably longer if I'm lucky."
I noticed that Wilson was staring at Hawke all dream-like as if he was the most amazing person in the universe. He rested the side of his face on his one hand while his other hand held on to the crease of the other arm.
"It must be really hard, huh?" Wilson stared at him, his green eyes sparkling from what I could tell and he brushed his blonde bangs back. "Being a lawyer and all."
"It gets tough." Hawke leaned back in his seat, his face being lightened up a bit by the theater screen, giving a better view of his grey eyes. "You have to wrestle in the ring with some other people, good and bad. You just have to find your own way around it. "
Hawke sure knew how to make things easier to understand, whether I completely understood him or not.
