Like every day I went to school then went home. Though I guess this day is a lot different than today.
The wind blew harshly as I walked the path to the school. Leaves coming off the trees and some danced with the wind. My hoodie came off many times that I just left it like that and continued walking. During the walk to school, it started raining, so I ran and ran. I almost slipped too many to count and found the school entrance full of people. There was still a good amount of people just arriving and running like me. I spotted Julia, my class president, and asked her,” What’s happening?”
“The rain is starting to grow stronger, so the principal dismissed everyone early. Too late for that though since everyone can’t message someone for some unknown reason. Some phones died before they even uttered the word ‘hello’,” she said then turned to talk with a boy near me.

I was confused. How will I go home? My mom works until midnight and that’s the only relative I have near us. I guess I was frowning so much because suddenly someone pulled me into an empty room. My heart was hammering inside my chest. Nobody noticed that I was gone. The cons of blending in the shadows too much. I heard several footsteps along with mine and my captor. There’s a broad chest on my back and from the hard-muscular hand, I bet that it’s Ashen again. Only when we were inside of the room was I able to fight against the guy I will soon kill and released myself from him. These were the moments I hate being small and Ashen and the other guys even Alissa made sure to tease me about it at least twice a day!
I glared at them with all I could muster and walked to the corner away from them. “C’mon Evelyn, it was a joke!” He whispered-shouted. I raised one eyebrow at him and turned my back at him. I felt something cold on my head and when I looked up I saw the most amazing thing today. Ashen was holding two bottles of green tea with a nervous smile.

“Fine. Fine. I forgive you,” I said and quickly grabbed the sorry gifts. “So... What are we going to do here?” I asked them and looked into each pair of their eyes. They looked at each other to see if someone will explain. Just then the door opened and it revealed Cassie drenched in sweat. I immediately looked at Mason and William gazing at her like she was bathed in light and very precious. Ahh, the same gaze most boys have on her. Well, boys will be boys.
Cassie’s eyes met mine and a smile appeared on her face while she skipped her way to where I was seated. I could see the boys’ face fell to which I just grinned. “Whatcha doin’ here?” She asked as she sat beside me. I didn’t answer her because I had my mouth around the straw of the green tea bottle. She smiled since she knew I wouldn’t speak while drinking green tea until I have finished it. She thinks it’s cute so it isn’t rude to her. So she left me on my own in the corner and joined them playing some game.
I saw them looking at me secretly probably worried, but I didn’t pay attention to them and just enjoy my green tea and my phone with the unfinished project named, ‘Water God’.

I didn’t even try struggling against him because the temperature of the rain and the heat of his body behind and his arms around me felt like wrapped in a cozy blanket on the bed near the window while raining or just cold outside. I didn’t even notice that I fell asleep on his arms.
I heard whispers and giggles even the sound of a camera before I opened my eyes. I rubbed the sleepiness out of my eyes until someone removed my hand. I knew from the way that handheld me that it is once again Ashen. I tried collecting my hand back, but he just pulled me until I was enveloped once again in his arms like a teddy bear. I looked up and I found him sleeping.
The sun glared at us through the curtains and everyone smiled. “Finally, I can go home!” William jabbered away. Everyone forgot I needed help, grabbed their bags and left us. It took me a few seconds to digest the fact that my friends left me here still stuck in his arms. I heard a groan and I looked up to meet his eyes slowly opening and revealing his electrifying blue eyes. I adored them so much in my younger years that I hated my dark chocolate eyes. I remember asking my mom if I could switch eyes with Ashen or with Clarie even with Mrs. Gray, but mom just laughs at me and called me silly. She said that I couldn’t be able to exchange eyes with someone. I said that I saw people do it. She frowned and asked where I saw such a thing. Of course, I answered—through a cartoon. Ever since then she wouldn’t let me watch T.V.
