I was contemplating whether to enter the suspicious building and quench my curiosity, or just walk away and forget everything that happened. I knew I had to choose the latter, but how could I just forget everything. As much as I hate to say, but what I felt in that situation was excitement; like a normal teenager, I was drawn to thrill. I guess my father’s blood really does run in me. My mom once said that my father was one of the most daredevil men she has ever met. Sometimes during my father’s death anniversary, she would joke around if I was really their child. She wondered why I’m not like them, but I always would say that maybe their genes skipped a generation, in this situation—me. Being weird and being daredevil runs in family, according to my mom.
Sometimes, I do wonder why I’m always talking about the past whenever I’m in some kind of interesting situation. I took a deep breath and knocked like what I did days earlier, I knocked. This time there was a rattling noise like a metal hitting something wooden rapidly. The door swung open and it revealed a woman. She looked to be in her early seventies with her hair completely white. She was taller than me, but I know for a fact most do so. What creeped me out was the number of bracelets on her arm. There were cuff, leather, charm and other kinds of a bracelet. They were designed with different symbols and weird colored charms. Add to the basket the dark long dress she is wearing that is decorated with weird symbols and pictures. I think I saw a dog-like creature with its head cut on her sleeve. Her eyes were blue colored that held a threat but also warmth. There was also something in her stance that saying she is on top of the food chain.

I blinked repeatedly and looked down to avoid her eyes that were gleaming with cunning. Suddenly, the choice I made earlier seemed a bad idea. Well, from the start it was already a bad idea. “Who are you?” She asked as she put a foot outside of the door. I gulped and thought about a lot of alibis as to why I’m here even if I wasn’t asked of the question. Yet.

“I’m Emma,” I said and finally looked up to see her reaction. She didn’t say anything or made any expression to suggest what she is thinking. Her eyes remained expressionless. She looked like she was assessing me. The one who probably will come back to enter her place without permission. To me, she is still a witch probably because I still believed what happened to me last time was very much real no doubt.
“Come inside,” then beckoned me with her finger. She turned her back on me and entered the place which completely got me curious. I contemplated entering again after my last visit.
But you are back here again because of your stupid curiosity of the place, right? Why held back now when you’re here?
Now I hated what my inner part said as she is most definitely right. I looked back over my shoulder at the sign that says ' irreale ma reale ' before catching up with the woman. Well, good luck to me.
It looked the same as before and it seemed that she cleaned up a little bit because the air was less dusty. There were still dusts on shelves and books. Finally, the woman faced me. “Where were you last time before you ran out?” I just knew what she meant and pointed to the shelf I was on where I took few books out.
“Go near it,” she said and folded her arms full of bracelets on her chest. I did as she told and went near it. “Pick one book.” I don’t know what her objectives are, but if she’s going to give me a book I might as well accept it. I looked over the shelf and spotted the books which were completely empty but had marks on the front that suggested something is written on it. I saw this thick red like blood book which piqued my curiosity. It was heavy when I took it in my arms, but I was really excited if she is going to give it to me. I was only a foot away from the shelf when I spotted large eight-legged creatures that I hate and fear. Spiders. I don’t know what they were doing there since there were quite a lot and the part where they are now exiting now is quite close where I removed the books from before. I screamed and looked at the woman for help, but she didn’t spear me a glance as she is busy reading a book. Like last time, I ran.
