It was an early fall morning when young Jewel Harper and her friend Hayley Evans were walking to school, kicking the brightly coloured leaves off the ground and into the gutter on the roadside. Both bright-eyed females were smiling and laughing, all the while Jewel held her journal closer to her chest. Jewel was a lovely young girl with big dreams that almost seemed impossible to reach, but she wasn't focused on achieving those after the mining incident. In the year 2010, in the small town of Ludadam, the mines collapsed on any late night workers, explosions and collisions were heard throughout the night as cave after cave came crashing in on the young old and wise workers of the town. "No survivors were found" or at least that's what the news had told everyone, a lucky young miner by the name of Jordan Miller, also known as Jewel and Hayley's closest friend had managed to escape but not unharmed, he suffered a broken arm and had become deaf from the sounds of the rocks caving in, the explosions sounding around him and what he hated most, the sounds of the other people screaming and taking their final breaths.
