Repigigas stands with electricity sparking across its body as Warble flies around searching for some form of an opening. Tired of the wait Warble unleashes a shot of acid with Repigigas dodging the attacks and hiding behind a building. Warble charges in shooting out more acid as Repi leaps back dodging the attacks and shooting out small shocks of electricity.
“This battle grows fiercer as both competitors are striving for total victory and the decimation of their foe.” The announcer says seriously. “But folks it’s anyone’s game, can either of these foes deliver a clean hit on their opponent?”
As Warble flies around, it dodges Repi’s attacks and as Repi shoots out sparks of electricity, its electric barrier slowly fades. Sensing its barrier dropping it digs into the ground falling into the subway tunnels once again.
“All you can do is hide!” The young man yells out as the camera's point towards him. “My Warble has you completely on the defensive with no way for you to deliver any form of attack.”
As much as I’d hate to agree with that ass he’s right. If all we do is dodge, then there’s no way we’re going to win, and eventually, you and Repi will grow tired. Dian says in Kenji’s mind.
Kenji breathes heavily as he focuses on the battle. “I can already feel it; our energy is slowly fading.”
The electric shield is a massive energy drain. It’s continued use will eventually drain us completely.
Kenji grips the rails of his disk and stares ahead. “Underground Repi is building up his electricity, but this will be the end. We need to do something in this clash or else we’re going to lose.”
Agreed, but what can you do? It’s to fast for our attacks and you won’t be able to build up any more electricity.
“Alright, I have an idea. I have to do something here and now to win this in one final blow.”
One blow will that work? We’ve barely gotten in a hit.
“Oh, this’ll work. Once we’ve clipped its wings, then we’re most certainly going to win once and for all.” Kenji says happily. “Alright Repi, let’s do this! Let’s crush that guy and win this thing!”
Repi bursts forth from underground roaring loudly to get Warble’s attention. Warble rushes towards Repi ready to shoot out a shot of acid straight at Repi. Knowing Repigigas could dodge the attacks Warble grows closer and closer as Repi’s body sparks with electricity.
“What is this? Your little shield won’t work with acid.” The young man says with a smug grin on his face.
Kenji nearly drained returns the smile. “Oh, this isn’t a shield. It’s something more.”
Repi stands on its hind legs and roars out loudly as the electricity sparks around it. As Warble grows closer, it slams its feet onto the ground sending out a shock wave of electricity that hits everything across the area.
“EMP Burst!” Kenji yells out excitedly.
You know that’s not exactly an EMP. Dian says seriously. Although it looks pretty powerful.
“Well, I wanted to use another word other than electric for this,” Kenji says barely standing. “But either way now it’s time to end this.
Repi stands breathing heavily as Warble lies on the ground barely moving. As Warble flaps, its wings trying to take off Repi moves over and stands high over the fallen foe stomping into it. Unable to move Warble stops movement and Repigigas lets out a loud roar echoing across the entire city.
“And that’s it, folks. Repigigas has proved itself the winner yet again with Warble losing after its two-win streak. Can Repigigas keep up this momentum or will it inevitably fall?” The announcer asks excitably as the cameras focus in on her. “Well, I know where you can find out, tune in next time to witness the next battle, till then everyone.”
Her platform raises to the sky as Kenji flutters to the ground.
Dian opens her eyes and puts back on her bracelet as she steps off of the platform. Oriana looks on her with pure excitement in her eyes as Dian walks over to her.
“That was amazing!” Oriana yells out. “You all just seem to get better with every match, that’s some impressive skill.”
Dian sighs. “It’s mostly just luck. Kenji is actually quite good at on-the-fly thinking and I just have to direct him in the right direction.”
“But a Minder is able to communicate mid-battle is a rare talent indeed, so you're quite skilled yourself.”
Dain fumbles with her bracelet. “Again, it’s less skill and more talent. I was born with strong psychic abilities that’s why Father adopted me. He wanted to train me to hone my abilities and get them under control.”
“Oh, well that’s good of him.”
Dian smiles. “Yes, he’s a good father after all.”
“But what about Kenji? The match really took it out of him.”
“Thankfully he’s still conscious this time, so hopefully he can walk.”
“You stupid kid!” The young man’s voice yells out.
He lands his disk to the ground and stomps over towards Kenji clenching his fist. He climbs onto Kenji’s disk and grabs hold of him by his jumpsuit lifting him up and rearing to punch him. Kenji only smiles and looks into his eyes barely able to keep his eyes open.
“So, this is what you do when you lose? Lash out like a temper tantrum, who’s really the kid here?” Kenji asks.
Repi stomps over barely conscious and roars shocking the young man as he lets go of Kenji. Kenji forces himself up and smiles looking up at the man as Repigigas stands over him.
“You see that Repi that’s what we call a sore loser.” Kenji says happily.
Repi barks and Warble flies overhead landing on the other side towards his Minder an older man. He walks over to the young man and grabs him by the arm and glares at him staring into his eyes.
“What did I say when I agreed to work with you? We’d face every challenge with honor and dignity.”
“Yeah but he’s a brat who…”
“There is no honor in insulting the winner in such a manner. You should congratulate him and thinking on where you lost so you can improve yourself for next time.” The older man says letting him go. “Now pick yourself up and act right or else your doomed to become a failure.”
“Yes, Sir.” The young man says forcing himself up and looking back at Kenji. “Well good match.”
He stands up and walks away with Warble flying off into the distance as the older man leads the group away. Kenji forces himself to stand and look over the situation with a smirk on his face as he wipes his cheek.
“Well, we should get going now to Repi,” Kenji says as he falls over unconscious.
Repigigas stands over him and nudges him onto its head as the Kaiju walks away headed back to a resting place.
Dian watches and shakes her head. “Great now we’ve got to contact the hospital again. Maybe we should just reserve a room?”
“Well, I could arrange that. And I could have someone analyze Repigigas for the time being, make sure the acid doesn’t leave any permanent damage.”
“Good, I’ll dig into the files and figure out who our next opponent might be. Better to do something than nothing while Kenji’s unconscious.” Dian says walking away. “If we’re lucky, then he’ll be up by tomorrow morning so we don’t risk missing any matches.”
Oriana smiles and follows behind her. “I’m sure all of this will work out and we’ll all be able to have our next fight.”
Toshiro watches and smiles finishing up his chips and letting the bag fly away with the wind. He stands and stretches and walks toward the fire escape on the roof.
“Well, that was well done. Kenji does surely have a knack for this, let’s hope he can keep this up.” He climbs to the bottom floors and leaps off of the ladder. “Now what should I do next? I guess I’ll just keep watching, for now, I need to watch out for a certain somebody.”
“And who might that be?” Harry says walking up from behind him. “I could have you arrested for trespassing right now you know.”
“I know, but you wouldn’t. Our breakup wasn’t that bitter.”
“Just explain what exactly you're doing?” She asks.
“Watching.”
“And you're sure that our daughter and the kid can handle this alone while you only watch?” She asks.
Toshiro shrugs. “I have confidence in Dian, she always had a good head on her shoulders. As for Kenji, he’s more impulsive needs direction and what not.”
“That’s not what I’m talking about. It was detected.”
“I see, well then maybe they’ve gotten as curious as I was when he showed up on my doorstep,” Toshiro says walking off. “They wouldn’t act so rashly so soon. They’re going to simply watch, that I know for a fact.”
