Chapter author - YouAreNowIncongito
For once in his life he could say that all was good. Well except for the nightmares. He filled his lungs deeply with the autumn air. The city was at a comfortable distance hovering on the horizon and he got Angi keeping him company out in the forest. Their days were filled with hunts, plays and adventures and the evenings with mating and long discussions. Delmar wished this could go on forever. Every time he saw her she grew more beautiful. It was like her whole soul light grew with each day. She still held up her mental blockade against his psychic powers but in some way he liked it. It made her a mystery to him. A beautiful riddle he had to figure out. He loved her deeply, he had never thought he was able to feel that way for someone. Sure he had lovers before but those relationships had never lasted for more than a week or two. And he hadn't really loved them, not like this. It had been more of an exchange of sexual favors.
He turned around, the white wolf was far behind him still climbing the hill.
“Angi! You’re slow!” he called for her. She rose over the row of the hill like a sunrise to him. He couldn't stop watching her soul light. It was like a beautiful blazing star.
“What is it? You’re staring at me like a moron.” she said amused when she caught up. She seemed tired, a climb like that didn't usually wear her out.
“It’s just your soul light. It’s so beautiful. It’s almost like it’s growing.”
“What do you mean?” she giggled baffled.
“It’s almost like you're two persons.” he laughed. It sounded stupid, but was hard to describe. Suddenly Angi’s smile disappeared and she seemed bothered.
“What’s the matter?” he asked surprised. She smiled a bit troubled.
“Nothing...” she paused. “I think I got a stick in my paw.” Delmar regarded her confused. This wasn't like her.
“Are you lying to me, young miss?” he asked and went up to her side.
“You don't believe me?”
“You’re talking to the master of lies. No, I do not.”
“Then look for yourself!” she placed her right paw right in his face before she laughing ran down the hill again.
“Oh, no you don't.” he smiled and ran after. He chased the laughing white wolf down the hill. At the bottom he managed to pouch over her. Quickly he shifted to his human form, wrestled her down and sat on top of her as she lay on her back. He grabbed her paw with both hands to regard it. It was unharmed, she had been lying. But why?
“Get off me.” she laughed.
“Not until you explained why you've been lying to me. There’s nothing wrong with your foot.”
“Seriously though, get off me.” she repeated a bit annoyed.
“Nope! I want an explanation!”
“Get off my stomach!” she suddenly snarled angrily.
“Whoa, jeez, alright. There’s no need to get upset.” he said surprised, got up and shifted back into his wolf form. “I was just playing. It’s something wrong?”
“No, sorry. I don't know…” she got back up. “I'm just not in the mood for wrestling games.” she seemed concerned about something but with her mental blockade it was impossible for him to tell what. She didn't seem like she wanted to tell him either.
“Angi.”
“Hmm?” she answered. He lay his head over her back.
“I love you so much. I'm sorry if I did something wrong.”
“I know weirdo. Don’t worry about it. You did nothing wrong. It’s just me acting up.” she answered sweetly.
