Chapter author - YouAreNowIncognito
It was her time to not being able to sleep. At least Delmar had seemed to find peace beside her instead of having another nightmare. She was worried for him, especially since he tried to pretend everything was fine. But right now she had a greater problem. She had been suspecting it for a while but yesterday he had confirmed the worst scenario.
"Your soul light, it’s so beautiful. It’s like it has grown. It’s almost like you're two persons." he had told her. She had immediately built up several new layers on the mental wall towards his psychic powers. She didn't want anyone to find out. Neutron's warning words about demon bloods were still ringing in her head.
She had been careless, enjoying his company a bit too much. Now she had made up her mind, she couldn't stay. It was better if no one found out. Not even Delmar. She didn't know how he would react. Would he force her to stay and risk the punishment? No he would rather follow her leaving his duties towards Radiation and the world behind? They still needed him in the fight against the black shifters. Or maybe he would do something unpredictable? Either way it was better if she just disappeared. She rose.
“I'm sorry darling… I can't stay with you no longer. I would have loved to, but I can't. I'm afraid I fear for our lives if they find out.” she licked him over his nose. “I love you, but I guess you wouldn't have been a good father anyway.” she sighed and looked him.
“Please don't do anything stupid.”
A cold bitter wind swept through the trees, the seasons was slowly turning to winter. Where would she go? She couldn't go back to her pack, it would be the first place to look. Forward was always a good direction. Always forward. This was a point of no return.
“I'm sorry mom, it seems like I made just the same mistakes as you did…”
