It makes sense, the dress Casey made fit Helena's style, BUT! It wasn't going to fit into the party, that Helena's dad had planned out. Helena is a smart girl it's just when it comes to certain surrondings you have to take in who and what's going on. Yes casey took in who the dress was made for, but she didn't really take in what purpose the dress was made for. This shows that Helena does love her dad and respects what he puts forth for her, just like he considers what Helena might like and what she might want. Doesn't know too much but enough to be a buisness man and Helena's father.
