He sighed out and leaned back, watching from the corner of his eye as you grabbed the basket and went to find a spot to sit. He soon enough followed after you, watching your footsteps quietly.
'Don't fall for her...idiot...'
You found a place to sit soon enough and you went through the picnic basket, finding the blanket and throwing it down under the cool shade of a willow tree. You took your set and started to unpack the lunch Jason had made for the two of you. Said male was kneeling down in front of a garden bed of flowers, a rose bed to be exact. You watched him closely and smiled as he carefully picked what seemed to be a white one from the red bunch, a diamond in the rough. The olive tanned male walked over to the blanket quietly, sitting down on his knees, your e/c orbs scanned over him and you could feel a small blush rise up onto your cheeks, it seems your blush was noticed easily as the male started to chuckle as he picked the thorns away from the white rose before setting it behind your ear.
"Beautiful.." He murmured to himself, he watched as you tilted your head, looking at the rose, he watched as you curiously gazed at the snow like petals. He smiled as he watched your hands trail up to your hair and to the rose that sat behind your hair, he watched as your fingers traced the silk petals gently, your touch as light as a feather as you looked back into his amber eyes.
"Thank you...Jason...It's really beautiful..." Your blush increased as the male nodded towards you before he spoke up "Well, I did get it for you. Cause it's like you..beautiful" Your eyes widened as you watched the male gasp at his own words and cover his mouth before trying to fix up what he said only to stammer and stumble over his words, making you laugh to yourself. You lowered your gaze, bad memories floating into your mind "Don't worry about it, Jason..." Your gaze lowered to the checkered picnic blanket and you closed your eyes slowly. Jason looked to you in slight worry "Y/N, what...what is it? What's wrong?" He reached a hand out and set it on your head, lightly playing with your h/c hair, you soon spoke up, sniffing slightly as you spoke: "I-It's just nice to..G-Get a compliment from someone else..." You shook your head a bit and pushed his hand away slowly but what he did next surprise you, Jason pulled you onto his lap and held you close, hugging you tight "If there's something wrong then you should tell me, I'm here for you, okay?" Jason's voice was soft and gentle in your ear but you shook your head "I-I'm fine, okay?" You huffed and pouted a bit "Oh? Yeah, like I'm gonna believe that...Wait...Are you pouting?" He laughed as you pouted harder "N-No!" You yeeked a bit "Oh my god you are!" He started to laugh and next thing you knew, you were on the ground getting tickled, your laughing was loud and your face red as your sides were lightly poked and tickled by the older male, he smiled and laughed with you even though you were starting to push him away. He soon enough stopped as you were losing too much breath, as he paused his tickling actions he stared at you quietly as you panted heavily to get back the breath you had lost "D-Damn it Jason! D-Don't...Don't do that!" You huffed as he pulled you up "Heh...Sorry Y/N, I-I couldn't help myself" He rubbed his head a little and smiled sheepishly, a bit of pink spreading across his cheeks, you noticed this and smirked a little "Yeah, just forget it right now, okay?"
Now that the tickle-fest was over you both started to eat lunch, throughout the nice and neatly packed lunch he started to talk about himself so you didn't worry as much, he spoke about how he was a family friend and that your dad wasn't fond of him. He even said that there was a bit of a rivalry over customers. You were clearly confused by this so he cleared it up quickly. "Ya see, Y/N, your mother and my dad, they both were mechanics in this local area, so of course there was gonna be a bit of tension between the two of em, but the funny thing is, it wasn't like that to start off with!" He slowly got up and stretched, you watched quietly, staring quietly as his shirt lifted up a little, but you shook your head and just tried to stay focused on his amber eyes, it was kinda difficult, you soon heard his soft voice pick up again. "It was kinda your dad's fault- oh! And my mom's fault too" He chuckled a little "Both of them didn't like the 'easy-going breeze' between the pair so they put in a little competition..soon enough your mom and my dad started to hate on each other..." He sat back down and rubbed his head as he sighed sadly.
You thought about what he said, he didn't pipe up again, your thoughts were deep and hard and your eyes widened, you looked at your hands "Oh my god...OG MY GOD!!" You shot up and looked at him, Jason was staring at you, spooked 'I can't believe I didn't realise this sooner!! Oh my god, I gotta tell dad! I gotta go, sorry Jason!" You ruffled his head and then grabbed your bag, sprinting off, the bright-eyed male smiled slightly as he watched you go "I hope this is okay.."
You ran home as fast as you could, bursting in through the door, your dad on the phone. You ran over and grabbed the phone, turning it off quickly "Dad dad dad!! I KNOW WHO SABOTAGED THE RACE!!" You were super jumpy and your dad gasped a little, standing up "Sweetie, who was it, how'd you find out!?" He grabbed your shoulders and shook you "Tell me, come on say something!" You pushed him back and you looked at him, almost crying "It was Jason's Dad!" Your dad looked down, his usual happy expression was gone, it transpired from surprised to shocked, going to scared and soon enough anger...
"He's going to pay for what he's done to my wife.."
