(The Adventure Begins)
As the three girls stood there in silence, trying to process what had just happened, a thought occurred to them—“What if we do have superpowers?” They brushed the thought aside and focused on the problem before them.
“So...what should we do now?” Sarah asked quietly.
“Well...we could try to figure out what powers we have and how to use them.” Ava replied.
“How do we do that?” Sage questioned. “How do you even know that we even have powers?”
“I dunno, but it’s entirely possible, I mean, we did get injected with some weird elixir...not to mention they did sent a government official to come and talk to us. That means that we must’ve done something...right?” Ava replied sheepishly.
“How about we use the stuff we brought? Sarah suggested.
“How is that gonna help us?” Sage inquired.
“I dunno, maybe we could set up the cones and flags and targets and stuff to make one giant obstacle course. Then we go through it and see if we’ve found out anything yet.”
“That...might work??” Ava replied, unsure.
“Why not. Let’s give it a try...” Sage chimed in.
They all walked over to the bench that had their stuff. They grabbed it, and went over to the place where they were going to set it up before.
“Okay, so what’s the plan?” Sage asked.
“So...I think the cones should go over here,” Sarah pointed to the left,” We can run in and out of the cones, to test agility and stuff.”
“Okay...there we go...” Sage said quietly to herself as she placed the last cone and stood up.
“What next?” She asked.
“How about the targets and nerf guns?” Ava suggested.
“Perfect!” Sarah replied as she came over to take one of the targets and nerf guns.
“This can go riiiiight here...” She stated, satisfied, and placed the target down a few feet away from one of the middle cones. She also lay the nerf gun right in front of it.
Sage and Ava followed behind with the other two targets and the nerf guns (there were three guns and targets total) and placed them accordingly.
After this was done, they placed the stuffed animals Ava had brought in a straight line in front of the targets.
“There!” Sarah breathed, satisfied.
“So what do we do now?” Ava inquired.
“We go through it, I guess...” Sage replied.
As they each went through it one by one, they had discovered some things. For example, they had found out that Sage had super speed. She had to run in and out of the cones, she also had to dodge items that were being thrown at her as fast as she could. She proved to be really good at this, and had mastered the skill quickly. Another thing they learned was that Ava had a hunch that their clothes had to to with their superpowers.
Sage didn’t believe her, (at first,) and Sarah said that it might be possible. When they tested this theory by having Sage try to make lightning, they were surprised. Not only did Sage have super speed, she had also been able to make a few tiny sparks of lightning appear. Next, they tried Ava. What she had to do was aim for the cardboard targets. But, she couldn’t use the nerf guns. When the other two told her this, she thought they were crazy, but she soon learned that she could create snow and ice. The coolest thing (no pun intended :P) was that she could create ice spikes. If she thought hard enough, they would appear out of nowhere and impale her target. (The other two girls had needed to “duck and cover” a few times to avoid being hit by the ice spikes.) Another thing they did for her was shoot at her with the nerf guns. What she had to do was block the soft, squishy, foam bullets. She managed to do so effectively. She had managed to either blow them away with her “ice breath” or put up a wall of pure ice so no one could hit her—the bullets froze on impact. Lastly, before they decided to take a break, they tried Sarah. This was especially hard because of the fact that they had no idea what to do for her. After about two or three minutes of thinking, they decided to have her run in and out of the cones, just like they did for Sage. This didn’t do much, but it did give them an idea on what they should do next. Next, they decided that they would throw the stuffed animals at her and have try to dodge them, also they shot the nerf guns at her as well. Surprisingly enough, something did happen—while they were having her dodge stuff something “clicked” inside of her. She started to slice the bullets directly coming towards her with her cat claws. (She apologized to Sage afterwards about ruining about half of her nerf gun bullets and even offered to buy her more.) After they were done with that activity, they decided to see if she could shape-shift into different types of animals. To their surprise, she could. After about and hour and a half of trying, she had managed to shape-shift into about three or four animals successfully. Overall, this had been very fun for the three girls and had proved to be somewhat effective. After they were done, they decided to take a break.
After they had made it to a metal bench under a tree, (it was one of the few ones in the shade.) and sat down, they discussed what they should do next.
“So...” Ava started,“That was quite a *huff* workout, huh?”
“Y-yeah...” Sarah replied,”You guys are *cough* really good at aiming...”
They sat in silence for a few moments while they tried to catch their breath. Sarah checked her phone—it said 4:01 PM.
While they were sitting there in silence, Ava felt her head start to get fuzzy.
“Oh no...” She moaned, “Not again...”
The other two turned their heads to look.
“What’s wrong?” Sage asked.
Ava stood up and started walking around the bench. She took deep breaths.
“No no no no...” she moaned to herself.
“What is it?” Sarah asked, a hint of concern in her voice.
Then she felt it—her head started to get fuzzy too.
“Oh...I see...” She said quietly. She now knew what was going on—Ava was trying not to pass out again. Now she too was taking deep breaths, trying to fight the urge to pass out. Sage’s head had also started to feel fuzzy. But instead of taking deep breaths, she stood up, took a few steps forward, and took off running. Ava and Sarah just stood there, confused. Then, the urge to pass out got stronger, so strong that they couldn’t fight it. A few seconds after Sage had taken off running, they were passed out right by the bench they had been sitting on, just minutes before.
