Claire woke up to the sound of the toilet flushing in the bathroom next door to her room. Heidi came in a second later and flopped onto her bed.
“Ugh, I’m never drinking again,” Heidi groaned and crawled back under the covers.
“Sure, and I’ll never eat bacon again,” Claire said dramatically.
Heidi snorted, “I feel bad. It was your first college party and you didn’t get to have any fun because of me.”
“Nonsense, I had a ton of fun watching you nearly castrate Kevin,” Claire giggled.
“Ugh, don’t remind me” Heidi groaned. “I need to apologize to him and that girl, Gina? No, Jenna.”
“Ginger,” Claire corrected her. “She seemed nice.”
“Yeah, poor thing. How bad was I?”
“Not too bad, you didn’t swing at her or anything.”
Heidi sighed, “good, I don’t need that on my reputation too.”
“Anyways, want to go to the library with me?”
“I can’t focus on anything but my headache right now. Maybe you should ask Hannah.”
“I could. Or I could go alone.”
“You should get to know her better, we both should.”
Claire groaned, “you’re right. I’ll ask her.”
“Good, can you turn the lights out when you leave?”
“Sure,” Claire packed her backpack and grabbed a sweatshirt. She turned out the light and went into the living room.
“Hey Hannah, want to go study at the library with me?” Claire asked the small brunette sitting on the couch.
“Sure, give me a sec,” the girl got up and went into her room. She came back a few minutes later, a backpack in one hand and a bagel in the other. “Ok, let’s go.”
The walk to the library was short, it was only a couple of buildings away from their dorm. When they got there they Hannah went off to find a study room and Claire went to look up something on the computers.
Hannah texted her that she was going to go get some food. Claire texted back that she was going to head home. She went to the stacks to return a book she had borrowed and went to leave.
