“How long do you plan on staying here tomorrow?” Jax asks leaning up against the headboard and moving the blankets.
“How ever long you let me stay,” Ace replies crawling over and laying his head on Jax’s chest.
Jax covers them with the blanket and flicks the light switch, “You know you can stay whenever and however long you want, right?” Jax asks wrapping his arms around Ace
“I know,” Ace answers as Jax lays his head on his. Ace stares off as Jax rubs his arm.
“This is really comforting,” Jax says rubbing his head on Ace’s.
Ace smiles, “Yeah,” he says closing his eyes.
“Are you going to bed?” Jax asks staring at the wall ahead.
“I was planning on it, I’m really tired. If you want I can stay up though, I can sleep in tomorrow so it doesn’t matter,” Ace replied keeping his eyes closed.
“Well I don’t want to keep you up but I can’t sleep, do you think we can switch positions?” Jax asks looking down at Ace.
“Sure, what do you want me to do?” Ace asks sitting up.
“Can you just lay down and face that way,” Jax says pointing to the wall with the balcony on it.
“Yeah,” Ace says laying back down. Jax lays down behind him and pulls him in, spooning him. Ace smiles pulling the blanket up to his nose and smelling it, Jax closes his eyes and calms down.
“Are you comfortable?” Jax asks still laying there with his eyes closed.
“Aaa-yeah,” Ace yawns while trying to speak.
“Okay, I’ll let you be so you can sleep,” Jax says drifting off.
“Hey, Jax,” Ace asks waiting for a response.
“Yeah?” Jax asks still half asleep.
“Goodnight,” Ace says as he turns his head and kisses Jax. Jax’s opens his eyes as Ace quickly turns back.
“Goodnight,” Jax says back grabbing Ace’s face and pulling it towards his. Jax kisses Ace and then lays back down, both Ace and Jax smile as they drift to sleep.
A few hours pass and Ace wakes up shaking, “No, no no no,” He says quietly trying not to wake Jax, “I can’t, I just can’t,” Ace says sitting up, he looks around the room and gets up from the bed. Ace walks out onto the balcony, he holds his head as he sits down, “I should go back inside,” Ace says trying to make up his mind on what to do. Jax groans and moves his arm, he feels the bed and opens his eyes. Jax sees Ace isn’t there, he looks at the balcony and sees him, “Why can’t I just let myself go sometimes,” Ace says wiping his eyes trying not to cry, he tries to keep his tears back, “Why can’t I just admit that I-”
“Ace? Ar-are you ok?” Jax says opening the balcony door and walking over to him.
“Oh, yeah yeah, everything's fine. I just needed fresh air,” Ace says hoping Jax can’t tell that his eyes are filled with tears.
Jax looks at Ace, “Why was he crying, I wonder if I did something or if something happened. Maybe I moved to fast or pushed him to hard, ugh why can’t I just calm down. It’s not like he’s ever gonna leave his job for me, I just wanna know whats wrong but I also don’t want to bug him,” Jax thought grabbing Ace’s hands.
Ace pulls his hands away, “Shit, why did I pull my hands away. Now he’s gonna think that I don’t trust him or something, just grab his hand. Yeah that will fix it, I can’t let him in just yet. I’m just not ready for that yet,” Ace thought shaking his head slightly and grabbing Jax’s hand back.
“Are you sure you’re fine?” Jax asks looking down at their hands then back up at Ace.
“Yeah everythings fine, let's go back inside. I’m getting kinda cold and just want to calm down,” Ace says standing up still holding Jax’s hand. Jax follows him inside and they both lay back down on the bed. Ace lays back where he was and Jax grabs and pulls him back in, spooning him again.
“If you get upset again, please just wake me up. I wouldn’t want you to have to go through that by yourself, I just want you to be happy,” Jax says, “Okay?” He asks waiting for an answer.
Ace sits there for a second in silent, “Thanks,” He says grabbing Jax’s hand and squeezing it.
Jax smiles and rubs his nose aginst the back of Ace’s neck, “Anytime,” He says falling asleep.
Ace smiles as his face turns red “Why is he so nice to me, I’ve never had someone care about me as much as he does. I should stop pushing him away, I really do need him I think I figured that out over the past few days. I just don’t want to hurt him, he makes me really happy,” Ace thought falling asleep in the warmth.
Ace groans covering his eyes from the sun, he turns over and put his face into Jax’s chest. Jax’s arm is still on Ace, he moves it pulling Ace closer to him. Jax pulls Ace close so their legs are tangled together, Ace opens his eyes slightly and looks up at Jax. Jax snores quietly, Ace smiles rubbing the back side of his hand on Jax’s cheek. Jax shakes his head and scratches his cheek, Ace holds his laughter and kisses Jax’s chin. Jax groans and stretches his arms up hitting the bed frame, “Morning,” Ace says rubbing Jax’s stomach where his shirt got pulled up.
“Morning,” Jax replies grabbing Ace and hugging him. Ace smiles and hugs Jax back, “what time is it?” He asks loosening the hug but still has his arms wrapped around Ace.
“It’s about twelve forty-two,” Ace answers turning on his phone.
“To early, lets take a nap,” Jax says rolling to his side and grabbing Ace.
Ace smiles and turns, “Fine I guess I’m still kinda tired too, but only for a little bit. Let me just put a blanket in front of this stupid window,” Ace says getting up and hanging a blanket in front of the window. He walks back over to the bed and lays back down, rolling back into Jax’s arms and falling back asleep.
