Jax turns are looks at her, “Why does it matter?” He asks turning back around.
“I was just wondering, I mean he is living with you,” She says sitting down on the bed.
“He’s not living with me he’s just staying with me for a while, I’m not sure how long he plans on staying,” Jax says opening a drawer.
Dakota rolls her eyes, “How is he?” She asks looking over at Jax.
“He’s fine, he’s just going through somethings,” Jax says grabbing a few shirts and setting them next to him.
“Like what,” Dakota asks laying down on the bed.
“If he didn’t tell you he probably doesn’t want you to know,” Jax says getting irritated.
“I’ve known him longer,” Dakota says flailing her arms back.
“That doesn’t give you the right to know things,” Jax says picking up the clothes and heading to the bathroom.
“I deserve to know what's going on in his life,” Dakota says sitting up.
“That might be true but you’re not hearing anything from me,” Jax says grabbing all his things and heading out of the bedroom.
“Fine, just answer my first question. Are you guys dating or no,” Dakota asks following him out the room.
“No! We aren’t, you happy?!?” Jax yells turning around and looking at her, “Why does it matter anyway, are you jealous?” Jax asks walking to the door.
“Ew no, for one he’s gay and for two I’m his sister,” Dakota says opening the door for Jax, “That’s why when you said he’s going through some stuff I wanted to know,” she continues as they walk past the front desk.
Jax walks silently for a second, “Sorry,” He says as they walk out the door.
“For what,” Dakota says following Jax to his car.
“For assuming that you liked him and for getting upset,” Jax says opening his car.
“It’s fine, I get it you like him. Everyone has their crush,” Dakota says looking at Jax.
“Okay, well I hope you have a good rest of your day. I should head out,” Jax says turning and looking at Dakota.
“Tell Ace I said hi,” Dakota says hugging Jax, Jax hugs her back and gets in the car. He starts it and drives off, “Is it more than just a crush?” Jax thinks hurrying home.
Jax phone rings and he picks it up, “Hello?” he asks putting the phone on speaker.
“Did you find everything?” Ace asks getting in the car.
“Yeah, I also met your sister,” Jax says pulling into the parking lot.
“Oh...really, cool,” Ace says getting nervous, “Did she say anything about me?” He asks tapping his foot.
“No, she just kept asking about how you were doing,” Jax says getting out of the car.
“Hmph, well I will hopefully be back later tonight. Don’t wait up if I’m not back home,” Ace says as Jax takes him off speakerphone.
“Ok, I’ll leave your things on the couch,” Jax says grabbing Ace’s things and heading inside.
“Do you have to work today?” Ace asks.
“No, I’ll be working tomorrow from seven too four,” Jax says unlocking the door.
“So you won’t be bored,” Ace says smiling.
“No, I’ll still be bored,” Jax says laughing, “Also your sister asked me if we were dating,” He says taking off his shoes.
“Hmm, what did you say?” Ace asks looking out the window.
“I said no of course, cause we’re not dating,” Jax says setting Ace’s stuff down on the couch.
Ace sigh’s quietly, “Yeah, so I’ll probably see you later tonight. Bye,” He says hanging up the phone.
“Bye,” Jax says doing the same, “Hmph, that was weird of him to just hang up like that,” he says taking off his pants and walking over to the bed. Jax falls onto the bed and lays there for a few minutes, he then rolls to his back and sits up, “Is he upset cause I said we aren’t dating, I mean its true we’re not also I thought he didn’t like me so was does it even matter to him. He’s very confusing when it comes to this,” Jax thinks drifting to sleep, hours pass and he wakes up to the sound of the door slamming. Jax opens his eyes and sees Ace, “Why are you back so early?” he asks sitting up, Ace doesn’t answer and takes off his shirt and pants, “Is everything ok?” He asks as Ace climbs onto the bed and crawls over to him.
Jax lays there as Ace crawls into his arms and starts silently crying, “W-what’s wrong?” Jax asks once more, Ace buries his face into Jax’s chest.
“Nothing,” Ace whispers as Jax rubs his back.
“I believe you,” Jax says as Ace smiles.
“I-I don’t...nevermind,” Ace says falling asleep.
Jax kisses Ace’s head, “Goodnight,” He says falling back asleep.
Later that night…..
“D-don’t touch me,” Ace says in his sleep as tears run down his face, “Stop touching me!” He yells pushing on Jax’s chest.
Jax wakes up from the yelling, “Hey what's going on?” He asks rubbing his eyes.
“S-stop, Stop!” Ace yells more as more tears start to fall.
Jax realizes he’s dreaming, “Hey, hey it’s ok. You're ok,” he says gently shaking Ace.
Ace’s pushes Jax back, “Don’t touch me, please!” Ace yells.
“Ace it’s me, Jax. Just wake up,” Jax says as Ace still pushes him. Jax, running out of ideas, kisses Ace. Ace stops pushing Jax and grabs his shirt, Jax pulls away and sees Ace’s eyes open, “Everything is going to be alright,” He says Ace back and holding him tightly, Ace hugs him back.
“W-why did you kiss me?” Ace asks still a little confused.
“Because you were yelling and crying, I was trying to shake you awake but it didn’t work and I didn’t want to hurt you. So this was what I thought of,” Jax says still holding onto Ace tightly, ‘What were you dreaming about anyways to be yelling like that,” he asks waiting for a response.
“It’s nothing, just a dumb nightmare,” Ace says hugging Jax tightly, “Let's go back to sleep, I don’t want you to be tired tomorrow seeing as you have to work,” He says falling back asleep.
“Okay, goodnight again,” Jax says closing his eyes.
“Goodnight,” Ace says slightly letting go of Jax.
