“Oh my God… we’re going to die!” The jets spiraling through the air at top speed and we have absolutely no sense of direction. “This is all, your fault!” Kept running through my mind and eventually blurted out of my mouth as I slowly but surely became pissed.
“Me?” She screamed… “Who’s the one who’s so controlling that they couldn’t just let me have a look at the map?”
“I said… I had everything under control! You had no business trying to take it!”
* Pilot, please engage the Control or proceed with emergency landing!* * Pilot, please engage the Control or proceed with emergency landing!*
“Well excuse me for also wanting to be aware of my surroundings when we land!”
“Yea…?” I hissed. “Well, great job Sherlock!”
“Who…?”
“Uh… just never mind!”
I started to reach for the parachute hanging from the back shaft of the jet but I couldn’t help but bitterly awe at just how great things were working out so far!
“Sora, the auto-pilot buttons to your bottom left. The keys are in that section of the Knapsack,” I pointed. “Start the engine and leave the door open for me to jump in; I’ll be right back”
“Wait! Where are you going?”She fearfully questioned.
“I have to open the exit and set the City panels to open before we take off. Otherwise, we’re looking to be pancaked once we reach the top.”
She nodded her head anxiously as she responded, “Got it.”
The guards on the other side were a great unfavorable distraction as they repeatedly impaled the door from the outside making efforts to get in. I rushed towards the garage control room and started looking around. I wasn’t quite sure what I was looking for. But if the Doc used this exit to get in and out of the City then the commands have got to be in here.
Well, unless they aren’t and he’s doomed us all.
I nervously scurried across the surface of the controls with great accuracy, digesting the panels and symbols that ran along the boards and screen as I went along.
–Aha! Found it-
“Now Sora!” I shouted the signal and she started the jet.
I flicked the switches upward then quickly swooped out of the control room and into the jet door that was left open.
The door broke open and bullets showered the control room. After realizing that I had long made my exit, they pointed their weapons towards the jet that has just taken off the garage runway.
We were off!
Cold sweat washed over me as the jet flew closer to the panels that had begun to close.
Come on!
We were cutting it far too close. I didn’t expect them to get the door open that quickly. They’re attempting to close the panels. If that happens, it’s over for us both. And I mean literally if we don’t crash and die straight into them. There is no other way out of here and we would surely be caught and executed.
Almost there!
I feel the maddening sweat evacuating my pores. My face is now wet, and my slippery fingers grasp the starring wheel, fretful and wanting to attempt to fly the jet myself.
“The gap is too narrow!” Sora screams.
“I’ve realized!”
“We won’t make it!”
“Ahh…” We echoed in terror with squinting eyes.
