Their harmonious warmth atmosphere was broken as the 3 body guards outside came in to check the wreckage.
Their lives did not live very long as their heads were penetrated without a sound through by Hong Wei's hidden knives under his sleeves.
This time, Hong Wei made sure to cover Kiran's vision. Hong Wei let Kiran see after the dirty work, can't let him see such insignificance. It was quiet though. Neither of them spoke for a good solid minute. Blood reeked in the carriage.
"So, where did you learn that?" Kiran broke the silence, dragging the 'so'.
"Are you seriously asking 'just' that?" Hong Wei snorted.
"Yup, you seem really good at it."
Hong Wei could only stare at Kiran in disbelief. He did it though. He broke the awkwardness.
Hong Wei burst into laughter, "You're strange." He hadn't laughed in a long time.
So many years of orders and expectations. Kiran was the only one who didn't ask much of him.
The last time he could let loose? Never. Life of an assassin was stressful and tense, nothing less for a first-rate like him.
Hong Wei made up his mind at that moment, who he can place trust into, body and soul.
They both decided to find close by town or somewhere there is human civilization to get some rest since Kiran suggested and new clothes because Hong Wei couldn't bare to look at Kiran's exposed chest. Kiran made sure to tease him plenty for Hong Wei's reserved and shy nature, unaware of Chinese culture.
Each riding on a stolen horse, "I probably need a cover." Kiran let out a thought.
"Mm, your hair is distracting.." Very beautiful, Hong Wei wanted to add, "I could go into town first to get you a hood."
"So I stand out of town?"
"And out of sight." Hong Wei said dismounting his horse. "I'll be back before dark."
"Alright, I'll stay here with Lily." Kiran said patting the white mare. She huffed at his touch.
"You named the horse?"
"Well we will both be waiting buddies." Kiran winked.
Hong Wei couldn't understand him at all. He walked away with a little smile on his face. His silhouette gradually disappeared from the distance.
The town he was walking in was more of the gatekeeper before the capital. It was called Shi Tang, named after the founder, he stayed defending the capital from a foreign power barrage till his last breath. It was also the main place for military recruit and training troops.
Hong Wei ran quite a distance trying to escape from his failure mission. He was probably a wanted criminal in the capital of Lan. Even more so in this town, his escape routes were probably under watch.
He had to act quick to get back to Kiran's side. Who knows what trouble the guy can get into.
Kiran found a large smooth stone to sit on. He was letting the two horses graze the grass while he relaxed. The rock was warm from the all day sun exposure. It was already the afternoon.
The relaxing warm atmosphere put him in a happy singing mood. Back in his world, he was a jack of all trade. He debuted as an actor but he touched upon a bunch of skills like martial arts and some bondage play (cough). Not only was he an famed actor, he was singer as well.
His voice was known to be smoothing, by all his fans. He could hit high notes without sounding like he was screaming at the top of his lungs.
Kiran was a busy guy. He couldn't ever not do anything. Whenever he had free time he would practice any skill, learn something new. It was how he became a jack of all trades, but that didn't mean he was good at everything.
Kiran was honestly fatigue from the encounters. Hong Wei for one with his situation, and job...but at the same time, he appreciated Hong Wei for trusting and believing in him. Saving the girl was stupid of him but she did manage to get away.
He had to wonder though, why China of all places? Was he killed? His body was totally intact and it isn't a typical reincarnation with new body and life. He was still Kiran.
Maybe it was the chance to get away from his hectic star life. He had some famous friends who disappeared from the spotlight saying they preferred to settle down to an urban life in the countryside to grow a farm and family. The idea sounded crazy to Kiran who so reliant on technology and his dear phone.
Lying on the rock though, Kiran had a change of mind. It wasn't so bad as he soaked in the sun.
Thinking over certainly did the trick of calming him down. It was his own form of meditating which was reflecting over his day. His breathing was soft, his eyes lashes fluttering closed. Ah...he might fall asleep. It was warm.
A tall domineering man on a black stallion came across to this very scene. He wore tattered armor but it still remained its sliver shine. His long jet black hair flowing giving him a deity feeling. His phoenix eyes narrowed at the young man on the rock. The young man chest was glowing, revealing two pink buds peaking out from his white shirt, he looked extremely delicate, his golden hair adding to the seductive glow.
He got off his horse, approaching the young man, his thin mouth smiled,
"Thank you for the meal."
