Vlalan watched Elle eat his latenight dinner. Elle soon got up and took his dish to the kitchen. "Feel free to get something you want." Elle said from the kitchen.

Elle came back into the living room and tapped Vlalan's shoulder, making him look at the young teen. "The first door on the left at the top of the stairs is my room. The one after it is empty. You can have it."

Vlalan smiled, "Why thank you!"

Elle nodded, his face still blank, and he walked up the stairs and went into his room.

Vlalan looked to his pocket as he felt his vibration ring start. He pulled out his cell phone and flipped it open, "Yes?"

"How dare you hang up on me!" the raspy voice snapped. "If you don't get me that item by summer I swear you'll never see the light of another day!"

"You'll get it," Vlalan answered. "I just need some time to get this guy to warm up to me."

"Don't forget you can't get attached to him!"

"Who said I needed to to get your precious item?" Vlalan asked lowly.

"Don't you dare start thinking you can take me on." the voice snapped again. "You're far too young to start playing in the big leagues. Watch your back."

The phone went dead.

Vlalan closed the phone and smirked, "I could say the same about you."

He got up and turned off the TV. After deciding to eat an apple for his dinner, Vlalan went upstairs and opened the door to the empty bedroom.

The room had a single bed by the window with the covers and sheets and two pillows piled neatly at the foot. The two drawer dresser was against the foot of the bed. Over the head of the bed sat a shelf with a small non digital alarm clock. There were a few paintings on the walls of flowers and pumpkins.

Vlalan shrugged and dropped his cell into the top drawer and started to make the bed.

Elle sat on his bed looking out his open window. The stars were out bright and glowing. Elle looked over to his clock on the wall by the door.

"It's already midnight?" he asked himself aloud.

He looked back out the window and sighed. "Father's never wanted the best for me so why now...?" Elle pulled back the covers and lay down. "What is his objective?"

Elle covered himself up with his covers and comforter. "I have nothing he'd want. Unless..." Elle looked over to his tall dresser that was nothing but ten drawers.
