All around Rocklet, the world was surrounded by a white blanket of snow and ice. This made anything with bright or dark colors stick out. And Chrystal loved it all. She loved and enjoyed taking pictures of the world around her. Shane on the other hand, was starting to get slightly annoyed. He took her out to the fair to have fun yet she was standing around, taking pictures of snow covered booths and people. But this made her happy so he just stood there and watched her fill up another roll.
“Another good picture?” He asked her.
“I hope so.” Chrystal responded.
Shane looked around, trying to figure out something to do to get her to put her camera down long enough so that they could spend time together. Yet he couldn’t think as people dressed up in victorian era clothing walked around singing both joyful and depressing songs about the holiday.
“Remember when we use to chuck snowballs at the carolers?” Chrystal asked.
“Oh man, did our dads get mad at us when we got our choir teacher in the head, knocking off her wig and showing everyone that she was bald!” Shane laughed.
Chrystal smiled and put her camera back in her bag. Shane watched as as she bent over and grabbed a handful of snow, he asked her want she was about to do when snow went flying, hitting a woman in the head, knocking off both hat and wig.
“Oh shit, you just hit Ms. Darton!” Shane said as he dragged her away.
“Shit, didn’t recognize her!” Chrystal laughed as they ran off to the game booths, where the crowd gathered to play and win stuff animals donated by shops all over the kingdom.
The two stopped running and let out the laughter they were holding in.
“I honestly didn’t recognize her. I swear it!” Chrystal said once more as she laughed.
Shane shoved her a bit, laughing as the noise from the games started up once more. He looked over at one of the games, a ball tossing game, and dragged Chrystal over to win her something. Chrystal took it as a challenge and both got the old softballs that looked like they were donated from the school.
“Oh so you wanna see if you can beat me?” Shane teased.
“Oh please, I didn’t become officer just because I’m cute!” Chrystal joked.
Shane had an idea on how great of an aim she had but failed to see that her aim was more true than his. He lost out at winning her anything and instead was given plush toys.
“You know the guys are meant to win the cuties the toys.” Shane stated.
“Well, I won a cutie something.” She laughed as she handed him the comically large bear.
“I’m not cute, but thanks.” Shane said as he enchanted the bear to float alongside them.
Chrystal smiled as she took out her camera, snapping a shot of him with the floating bear. “I have a picture that’ll say otherwise.” She joked.
Shane smiled and took her hand, leading her to get food from the fried food stall.
“Which one shall we go to?” Shane asked.
Chrystal thought about it before going to the one that was serving food that can be held by hand and have their drinks floating by them. Chrystal offered to pay but Shane refused and quickly paid for their lunch. The two walked around with hot burgers and fries in hand and cold drinks floating by them. Chrystal looked around, trying to find something from them to do next and spotted a large ferris wheel with inclosed seats. She looked at the line, finding that by the time they got to the front they would be finished with their meal.
“How about that?” Chrystal pointed.
Shane nodded and the two walked over and waited in line. They got looks from people due to the large teddy bear floating along side of them. Shane flicked his wrist and the bear started to dance, causing Chrystal to laugh. The line went on slowly, neither one mind as they quickly ate their meal and finished off their sodas. Still the choir of people sang along to carols being broadcast on the speakers. They threw away their trash once they got to the front of the line.
“You know only three people can fit on here right?” The nearly stone ride operator said.
“You know the teddy bear is our third person right?” Shane commented.
The ride operator rolled his eyes and open the car for the two to get in, Shane sat the bear in the seat next to him while Chrystal sat across from him. Above them they could hear christmas carols being sung on the speakers. Shane smiled to himself, the whole setting was perfect at this point. He waited for the ride to start up again and watched a his dark looked out, amazed by the world around her.
“Sure I can fly but still, the sight from a ferris wheel is amazing.” Chrystal said.
Shane unbuckled his seatbelt and moved over to her. If he was going to tell her his feelings then he has to do it now.
“Chrystal…” He said.
Chrystal looked up at him, wondering what he wanted.
“Um, I have something I need to tell you.” Shane said.
Chrystal could tell it wasn’t anything bad. In fact, she had waited for this moment for weeks now. She let out a small giggle before tugging him to get close to her face. He did so and was shocked when she kissed him.
“Love you too.” She smiled.
Shane squealed and pulled down on the hood of his coat. Yet again his dark did something that he should have. Chrystal giggled, she enjoyed making her light blush, it made it fun. She pulled out her camera when he wasn’t looking and snapped a shot of him.
“And I’ll call this one ‘confession reaction!’” She teased.
“I can’t believe my own dark beat me to the punch.” Shane said as he tried to go back to his seat but Chrystal used her magic to force him to sit next to her.
“How about you try again.” Chrystal said.
Shane took a deep breath and cupped her face, he leaned down and kissed her gently on the lips. He tried hard to not smile back as she kissed back. They pulled away and Chrystal couldn’t help but laugh, wrapping her arms around him.
“I love you.” Shane said, a blush growing more and more on his face.
“I love you too.” Chrystal responded.
