In short Sheas was in love with another boy, Paul. This was non-sexual relationship, just teenage dates, cuddles, kisses and other stuff like that. However, this relationship was happy just for a few months. Paul started to ignore Sheas and act as if they were not a couple. Sheas kept loving him even though Paul's behavior hurt him much. They had a number of quarrels, after which Paul showed he still loves Sheas, but ignored him again a few days later. They went round and round, until Sheas felt depressed. This finally led to nervous breakdown and ended with a heart attack. After the hospital Sheas broke up with Paul but became very distant from other people. His family moved to a new city so Sheas could feel better in the new environment. And this is where the story starts
