King Maxwell entered Rowland’s room, he saw his mother talking to Rowland. He walk up to them and Rowland saw him.

“ King!!” Rowland said to Maxwell, when he has woken up, he has only been able to see the King’s mother who has been sitting beside him. She has come to check on him when she heard that Rowland's mother has left and gone home, and that is was the maids who were looking after him. It was not long when she has entered the room that Rowland has woken up. He was glad to see his husband, King Maxwell.

“I am glad you are alright” Maxwell said to Rowland. He hug Rowland with joy.

“ I’m fine” Rowland says as they break away from each other.

“ since you are here now, let me go, take care” The Kings mother said to Rowland.

“ yes, mother “ Rowland said. Then she got up from the arm chair that she was sitting on and went out of the room.

“ Rowland, I am glad to see you okay. But you shouldn’t have jump in front of me and taken the knife, What if you had died. I do not think I will able to live without you”

“ Maxwell I am sorry, my body reacted on his own” Says Rowland

“It is okay Rowland, at least you survived” Maxwell said as he sat beside Rowland.

“ no part of your body is hurt right? “ Maxwell asked just to be sure that all is well.

“ I am fine, but how come there are no wound scar on my chest?" He asked.

" the knife did not penetrate your body, it was the shock that made you faint" King Maxwell did not want to tell Rowland the truth about the magic.

" is that so?" Rowland said. He thought he has felt pain when the knife has touch him.

" here, take this " he said as he gave him a necklace.

" thanks, it is beautiful. what of my parent? “

“ they are fine, your mother left not too long ago “

“ and the singer?”

“ she died”

“oh, I thought we might know who was after your life”

“ yeah, that’s what I thought too but she died during the interrogation “ Maxwell said to Rowland.

Rowland was glad that the king, his husband was fine, he would jump in front of a knife over and over if it could save Maxwell.

“ I love you” Rowland suddenly blurted out. For he has not meant to say it out.

“ me too, I love you” Maxwell says he held Rowland’s hands which was hot. “ your temperature is getting high, maybe I should call the physician to check you out”

“no, I am fine. I think it is my –, I think is my” Rowland face was suddenly getting red

“ oh I see” Maxwell said having understood what Rowland was trying to say. No wonder his scent is stronger, he thought.

“ in that case, I should let you rest so you can save your strength “ Maxwell says.

“ no, don’t leave me yet, please say with me a little longer” Rowland said. He wanted to stay near Maxwell as his scent seem to calm him down.

“ okay, my love I will stay with you for a bit “ Maxwell easily agreed as he too was not yet ready to actually leave the room. He wanted to stay near the one he loved. Rowland fell back asleep.
