They had been on a planet, getting them, the people there or should I say aliens, to join them in the fight between Lotor and Voltron. Lance had not been paying attention, his mind swirling with thoughts.
Once they had gotten back to the ship, Shiro had been a little worried for Lance, considering his silence. Lance was usually flirting with some girl, cracking jokes, being his usual self. But this Lance was quiet, lost in his thoughts, (Sure, he didn't pay attention but this Lance...even though he had been in his thoughts, he had heard everything and when someone asked, he would answer correctly, calmly and like he knew what he was talking about-as if he hadn't been lost in his thoughts a few minutes ago)calm, not cracking jokes or flirting with anyone or any thing. Lance hadn't been acting like his usual self for days and Shiro's worry for him grew.
Shiro was planning on having a meeting with the other paladins about Lance. Shiro's thoughts were interrupted by Keith's outburst.
Oh yeah. Keith had been a little too dramatic with his emotions. They appeared to have, say, spiraled out of orbit.(Hah, jokes.) Anyway, Keith had been a little too angry at Lance about how he had gotten everything right, when they asked him what they were talking about or asked him questions, had said everything correctly.
(No one's POV)
Keith says to Lance,"Okay, how did you know what we were talking about even though you weren't paying attention?" He raises a bro, emphasizing what he was asking.
Lance, who had been thinking about something deeply, replied, as if he hadn't been just thinking about something,"How is that a problem? I'm just getting everything you hear. What is so wrong about that?" He raises a brow, intrigued, waiting for Keith's response.
Keith, who was a bit flustered(even though he hid it), shocked and weirded out by Lance's calmness, says,"But you usually never pay attention! That is my problem. And what is wrong with that?! How would you, of all people, pay attention and get everything we ask right?"
Lance chuckles,"Keith, Keith, Keith, why would you question something so" He taps his chin."Trivial like that?" He smirks.
Keith, weirded out even more, says, shocked and a bit angrily I might add,"T-trivial?!" He laughs."Oh, Lance, what is even going on with you?"
Lance stares back with a straight face and curtly says,"Why do you care? It's not like I'm dying or something." He stops, thinks then grins, smirking a bit,"Hmm, isn't that strange~ Keithy boy here, cares! But why? Why do you wanna know?" He quirks an eyebrow at Keith, curious.
Keith, who downright is taken aback by Lance's question, says, a bit of doubt yet confidence all the same, in his voice,"Because we are a team and we watch each other's backs and whatnot. Why else would I care?" He laughs.
Lance says,"Really?~ That is all?~"
Keith says back, squinting his eyes a bit,"Yes. What else would there be?"
Lance smirks, white teeth glinting from the castle's light,"Like, I don't know~ You're true feelings, I suppose?" He cocks his head to the side a bit.
Keith, really wanting answers and wanting to know why the hell Lance was acting like this, says slowly, a bit cautious,"Like what?"
Lance laughs. No, not his laugh. Someone else's. He starts speaking, but his voice was...different. Menacing, almost. "Oh, Keith, how could you not realize your true feelings? Oh wait. You don't like to show or acknowledge those feelings, now do you?"
Keith was a bit scared. Who the hell was this guy?! This wasn't Lance! Lance wouldn't act like this....would he?
Keith also knew that what the...whatever he was, was speaking the truth. He did hide and he didn't show his emotions;he didn't want to appear weak, useless, or anything like that. He also didn't acknowledge because, who needs those useless feelings anyway?
He didn't need them and they didn't need him. He was fine with not feeling or showing his emotions. Sometimes he would but only if he was pushed to it.
This thing, seemed like he/it was reading him, scrutinizing him, taking in every last detail.
The Lance looking thing says, staring straight into his eyes, sighs, a bit disappointed"Well, it appears I must go." He bows and with a flourish, leaves but Lance..he stays. The only thing that the thing did was disappear back into Lance, waiting for the next time he could come out. The time when he could do whatever he pleased or anything really.
They didn't know what he was, what he was planning but they would find out soon enough. In the meantime, Keith is too busy catching Lance before he fell, questions swirling in his head. He didn't know what that was, what was happening to Lance and what the hell was going on.
