Courdrory
My eyes stared at the ceiling above me. Today was going to be such a pain. Still, I never knew girls could be so annoying. Especially, this one. Well, doesn’t matter I’ll break her heart eventually. And when I do, she’ll regret ever messing with me.
School didn’t start for another two hours, and it was pointless going back to sleep with my mom around the corner. I decided to take a shower and get ready early. At least one thing would be off my back.
Once dressed, I went downstairs and watched TV. It was the same boring channels. Nothing changed, well…except for today. I had to use today to figure out their schedules. With Athena’s brute of a friend, I can’t get close to her. If I remember correctly, her name was Alexa. She and Athena have the same science class; I should know I’m in that class. But afterwards…
I need to keep an eye on them. Besides, if I keep my distance, then Athena will start to wonder why I’m not pursuing her. Or in her words, harassing the living hell out of her.
Taking a deep breath, I configured all the ways this plan could fail. But that’s the thing, this plan, like me, wasn’t going to fail.
“Courdrory!”
“Ugh, she’s awake,” I groaned.
“Courdrory!”
“What?!” I yelled back.
“If you’re up, why don’t you make yourself useful? Make my breakfast and get ready for school!”
Unbelievable…She is absolutely the most annoying person I have ever met. Why did dad have to leave? Either he hated me, or he hated mom…Or it was both of us. Whatever. It’s his fault. Not mine. Anyway, I gotta remember to call uncle. He told me to let him know if mom ever came home drunk. He gave me his word that he wouldn’t call Child Services, but he still worries about me. If anything, mom and uncle share custody of me. He’s more of a father to me, and he respects my privacy.
Once I was finished, I left a note for mom, then left. Luckily, my uncle next door, so I could come over whenever I wanted. He likes driving me to school, which is his excuse for having an ‘uncle nephew talk’.
RING RING!
My uncle’s footsteps could be heard as he ran to the door. He opened the door with a smile and let me in. “Come in. I made breakfast.”
I apologized for not calling ahead since my pick time is not even close to this time. “Don’t worry about it. I knew you were awake, cause I could hear your mother screaming,” he chuckled.
“Yeah,” I laughed.
The smell of my uncle’s cooking was much better than my mom’s. Seriously, the guy can cook! I sat down in the dining room and placed my bag on the ground. My uncle’s house was pretty quiet, sometimes I would come over when I needed to study. Only a banshee would think my house was peaceful.
“So, what’s on your mind?” he said, placing a plate of pancakes with powdered sugar on the table.
“What do you mean?” I asked, eating the pancakes.
