I rub my eyes as I wake up. I yawn. I start stretching a bit. I look around tiredly and notice Etalon wasn't there. I get up and stretch a bit more. I sigh. 'Ah, that was great~' I head into the kitchen, spotting Georgie eating. I sniff the air and smell: Bacon(yES!), pancakes,(YES), syrup, and mmm~ Toast. (I love bread so what?)
I spot, you guessed it!, Etalon Thorn, wearing an apron. Wait, I have an apron? I didn't know that...Hmm, I guess I am oblivious..Anyway, back to that delicious smell~!
"Hey Etalon. Watcha making?" I say as I walk up to him.
"Oh just a little something~" He replies, flipping a pancake.
I watch, awed. "Can you please teach me that?" I practically had star eyes.
"Hm? This?" He flips a pancake to emphasize what he was asking me.
I nod fast. "Yes, that! It looks cool. I wanna learn how now." I look up at him with pleading eyes.
He laughs. "Okay, sure, but maybe some other time."
I pout and head over to sit at one of the chairs I have, getting myself ready for the sweet, sweet goodness I would receive. But nothing prepared me for goodness he placed before me. He puts a plate of that sweet, sweet goodness and sits across from me.
"So? You busy today?" He asks as he cuts a piece of his pancakes off. He pops the goodness into his mouth and chews.
I stare down at the goodness, practically drooling. I haven't had pancakes in centuries! I pick up my fork and dig in. I pop it in my mouth and practically melt from how good it was. I keep my fork there, eyes closed in bliss, enjoying the flavor of the sweet, sweet goodness.
Etalon laughs. "So, its good, huh?"
I nod enthusiastically.
He laughs shaking his head. 'Adorable.' He thinks as he pops another piece into his mouth.
I hesitantly take out my fork from my mouth to take another piece, repeating what I had done before. I take bite after bite, enjoying it exactly as I did from the first bite till half of it was gone. I gulp down some milk from the glass Etalon hands me. I sigh, putting the glass down. "How did you learn to cook like that? You can be famous!"
He laughs again. "Nah, I just had a lot of time for it, is all."
"Might I ask why?" I ask as I pop another piece in my mouth, dying of bliss and goodness.
He cuts another piece of his almost gone pancakes and eats it. "Hmm, I guess I could." He shrugs. "If you wanna hear a long yet short story."
I nod. "Sure I would." I start to chew on some bacon, waiting. 'Even his bacon is delicious~!'
"Well, since my mom was always working and my dad had remarried after he cheated on my mom, I was the one that had been, I guess you could say, the man of the house. I had, like, 14 siblings. 7 brothers and 7 sisters. And since my mom wasn't around much, I took the liberty in watching over them. I practiced cooking cause mom would get home real late and my siblings were hungry so I, again, took the liberty to learn how to cook. I practiced and practiced, messed up a lot but finally got the hang of it. After years of taking care of them, my mom got remarried to a great guy and well, I went to College and moved out. Some of my siblings did the same; some got married, some had kids, some got big jobs and stuff like that. Some stayed at home because they were too young to leave. I guess that is basically it." He shrugs, drinks from his glass after finishing the story.
I gap at him. "Really? Wow. You did it so well too. You did real good, Etalon. Especially all them siblings! Jeez, I'm surprised you're alive."
He laughs. "Good thing my siblings had my back through it all."
I smile. "Yeah, good thing."
