I didn´t tell him a thing about my past. But I suspect he´s been doing some research behind my back.

“What are you talking about? What do you know?”, I shoot back.

He turns his back to me while putting on his shirt.

“I know a lot. About a lot of things.”, I hear his muffled voice.

“You know, what I mean.” Those Cat and Mouse games he likes to play whenever he didn´t want to answer my questions.

“No. I don´t”, he insists on his strategy.

I let out a frustrated sigh. Not that it´s that important, anyway. Should he try to know whatever he wanted to.

Sarazeel steps over to me, now fully clothed. He smiles down at me and pets my hair softly, not feeling a bit of shame. Like I was his pet, not the other way around. The only reason I forgive him him his impertinence is that I still do feel kind of sorry – that he is, in fact, my pet.

I jump up and escape his hand, walking over to the entrance.

“Don´t think you can do whatever you´d like to, Sarah.”, I lazily try to restore my authority while opening the door.

A little girl is standing on the other side, staring at me with big eyes. I blink. What does a young Girl do over here at my door, and specifically while she should be getting dressed.

“Oh... I am sorry.”, she whispers, fearfully looking at my demon, who now comes up beside me.

“I thought I would tell you that it´s time.”

She gulps and nervously pulls on her clothes.

“Bu-But I can see that you´re ready, so you didn´t forget about it.”

Admittedly, that was kind of cute, reminding me about the event because she was used to me being an unbothered sack of rice that wouldn´t know to save my life tha -

“There´s no need to remind her. I´m here.”

I let out a bewildered sigh.

“Sarazeel, that is not something you say to a sweet little girl.”

I turn my head, but she´s already run off, probably scared of Sarazeels harsh reply.

“That was a demon.”

“What?”

Sarah sighs and stretches his arms.

“That wasn´t a little girl, it was a demon.”

The information slowly sickers trough my thick head.

“You mean...?”

“Yes.”

“But who would send her? Why?”, I ask, quite perplexed. But now the timely fashion that creature arrived at my door made a lot more sense.

“I don´t know. Probably to spy on you.”,  he says, unaffected, picks up my hair and starts to put it up into a ponytail. As he does every morning. He can´t bear the horrible way I treat it, as he kindly puts it.

I shake my head, but he´s already done.

“Ok. Alright. So the girl was a spy. Fun.”

Sarazeel laughs and steps out of the room.

“Let´s go.”

Part of me still tries to conceptulise the little girl. She looked so much like one of my sisters, it was impossible to tell apart. And still –

“Ok.”, I sigh, shutting the door behind me.
