The tubes looked to be of the same sturdy glass as the tank, and they were both intact. Based on what Em had seen on the machinery, she thought that these must be compounds 1 and 2. What those consisted of she did not know, but that green goo was the same stuff on the floor by the tank and that had been in the hallway outside. As for the red stuff, it was just almost the color of fresh blood. She hoped that it was simply both kinds of goo that had stained her uniform, and not something else.
Em did not find the tubes particularly interesting, and, armed with the flashlight, the security keycard, and the shard of glass, she returned to the hallway to continue her investigations. Her energy levels were still very low, but walking helped her head stay clear. She was certainly thirsty and hungry though.
