Ari stomped through the forest, teary eyed. "I can believe she choose that kid over me!" she thought. "I mean- we are family, and he practically kidnapped her! She's out of her mind." Ari stopped and looked up to see where she was. She, coincidentally, was standing right in front of her own house. The lights were all off. "I guess Mom's not home," she said. Ari walked in the house and saw a note on top of the home phone.

    Dear Ari and Nina,

I went on a trip out of state for business. Food is in the fridge. Call if you need me for an emergency!

    "Out again," Ari thought. "She always is." This "mother" is only Ari's Mom. Nina was adopted but she looks similar to Ari and Lapel. (Lapel is Ari's Mom.) Ari got an idea. She picked up her home phone because her's was charging. She dialed Nina's number, but it wasn't her who picked up. It was someone else.
