on June 12, 2016, 49 people where killed in a gay nightclub in Orlando Florida. when i heard the news the following morning, as many of you probably did, it hit me hard. i had been in the middle of working on this chapter of WFS and from that day i just couldn't continue it. with the entire cast being LGBT i had to step back and ask myself, is this the type of art i want show about LGBT people? is this what i want my gay and trans siblings to read? the answer was a hard and resounding no. i didnt have it in me to work on a story where one of the main characters (jeremy) is a transgender suicide victim.
so, this comic is cancelled. forever. im posting what i already had done in order to clear my conscience for good, and also to say that i am still making plenty of LGBT art, but with a firm focus on expressing the love and beauty of our lives. i dont make comics anymore but i make plenty of illustrations and im working on writing my first original gay short story!
so, if you liked this comic, im sorry. it was an interesting project while it lasted but i think ive moved on to much better things. im not suicidal anymore. and i make art that im actually proud of. art that i can shamelessly show to my trans and gay siblings, so that we can celebrate our experiences together.
