There was a pause as Mr. Crocodile thought that one over.
|MrCr0cod1le| I’ll kill your characters. Then you’ll both have to start all over with gaining stats and fulfilling this quest.
Well, that wouldn’t be nice, but it wasn’t necessarily a huge loss so close to the beginning of the game. Sure, regaining what they lost would be a waste of time, but so was sitting here and babysitting Mr. Crocodile’s Set until they got their first quest done.
|Brindle_Fox244| Guys, hang on.
She must have switched over to Silver’s chatbox, because her next words appeared above Silver’s head.
|Brindle_Fox244| Silver, Waif isn’t willing to help the rest of Mr. Crocodile’s set fulfill this quest today. Are you willing to help them, so long as they find another Craven?
Silver :: Yes, as long as it doesn’t cause further turmoil.
|MrCr0cod1le| Right then. You two will come along with us and be an extra pair of eyes and ears until we find another Craven.
No. We’re done here. We’ve had enough of this. |SevenAteEight|
Apparently, Mr. Crocodile couldn’t handle this small inconvenience, even if it was accidental, and even simply knowing where to find Waif and Silver tomorrow was still more progress than he had before. In fact, this guy didn’t seem to realize that waiting and then utilizing these same NPCs tomorrow was a much easier option than pushing him and Brindle around.
And his Set didn’t say anything about Mr. Crocodile’s antics either. How could that many people be happy to follow someone like that without protest?
|MrCr0cod1le| You don’t have much choice. Come on.
He could agree, and then he and Brindle could run off when these people dropped their guard, but then there was still the fact that their characters were fast enough to catch up pretty easily.
|Brindle_Fox244| We already put you guys pretty far ahead by bringing Silver to you and showing you where Waif was. Don’t you think that’s enough?
That was more than enough, but they were stuck with the fact that Mr. Crocodile didn’t think so.
|MrCr0cod1le| How many times do I have to tell you? This wouldn’t have been an issue if you just gave us Silver from the start, along with getting out of our way like I told you to when we were in Waif’s den.
Actually, that was your Set’s fault for being lazy. If they all sent at least a few chat messages, then they would have all achieved the quest. |SevenAteEight|
|MrCr0cod1le| You know, I really don’t care. So why don’t you stop wasting all our time and just cooperate?
‘Because I’m getting sick and tired of you,’ he thought. This really was a waste of time, though, even if maybe not for the reasons Mr. Crocodile thought.
What if he and Brindle just signed off? They would disappear, so it wasn’t like Mr. Crocodile’s set could do anything about it right away. They might have to stay out of the game for the rest of the night just to make sure, and Mr. Crocodile could always come after them later, but that was better than having to deal with him right at this moment.
Right back at you. Brindle and I are just going to sign off now. |SevenAteEight|
Well, hopefully Brindle would follow suit.
|MrCr0cod1le| You know, go ahead. But I’ll remember. I’ll remember your username and how selfish you are --
He stopped reading and hit the logout button, and stared at the home screen of the Ascending Spires website.
He scowled as he remembered Mr. Crocodile’s most recent words. ‘Yeah, and I’ll remember you too, weirdo.’
