For Chapter 6 I wanted to touch on a topic that I see a lot of my textured haired sisters and brothers struggling with. I've struggled with this for many years back in my younger years and now that I'm older I've decided to start having a different outlook on my hair texture and I'm now happily able to rock my hair in it's natural kinky/curly state or if I'm feeling board I'll switch it up with a flat iron, either way I've learned to finally have fun and to love my hair and this is something that I'm trying to teach my children as well. I don't want them growing up thinking their hair is bad. My husband who has a natural loose wavy type of hair texture grew up thinking something was wrong with his hair because most of the boys around him had their hair either kinky/curly or shaved and some would even point out to him asking why his hair was swooped over like that. I'm not sure how the hair struggle is for men but I do want to make sure that I'm giving a positive representation to all of my brothers and sisters who thought their naturally textured hair was ugly or bad. You keep being your awesome beautiful self! Don't feel that you need to tare down another to make yourself feel uplifted, embrace the magical unicorn locks growing from your stardust scalp and rock on! <3

ヽ(;▽;)ノ I used to hate my hair when I was younger. People used to tease me about how nappy it looked or how unkempt it looked. It didn't help that my mom and my sister didn't know what to do with it either. (Sponge head they used to call me!) But after years of perms and split ends and damage, I cut all that crap off and started growing my hair out again! And I love it how it is now and know how to take better care of it.
