Over the next few days, I tested my new powers in a corner of the garden behind the mansion. Occasionally my reckless sword swings would scare Walsh the gardener out of his skin. First up was the weird katana flying around me all the time. I discovered that I can command it to disappear into some sort of pocket dimension, and call it out at any time I wished. The ability wasn't limited to just the katana - I could summon all sorts of weapons like rapiers, bows, and lances. Even guns, though I should keep those a secret. Even imaginary things like The Sword of Promised Tropes Excalibur could be drawn out.
I couldn't summon a thermonuclear warhead though.
I-i-it's not like I tried to do so, okay?!
Certainly not!
I'm not sure where the line was drawn, but the ability wouldn't let me do anything too overpowered.
Anyways, I should give it some kind of name, like Unlimited Bl-nonono I can't just copy something like that. Besides, since I'm pulling out all sorts of treasures wouldn't it be more like that Babylon thing? A collection of weapons...
I pumped my fist. "Got it! It'll be INFINITE ARSENAL!"
I immediately fell to the ground and held my head at the level of chuunibyou. I'm technically an eight year old kid though, more or less, so being a little chuuni is okay, right? I pretended not to hear the little voice in my mind complaining that the past adult me was also chuuni as heck.
Setting unique magic like IA aside, in this world, people generally used elemental magic divided into six elements: fire, water, wind, earth, light, and dark. The four main elements were self explanatory, while light magic is focused on healing and granting buffs to others, and dark magic is focused on inflicting conditions and curses.
I initially had a little affinity for light and wind magic, and after regaining my past memories I became attuned to water too. Overall magic power also seemed to increase.
I wondered if my increase in physical abilities that happened during the attack on the carriage was due to light magic or something else. I was super weak in my past life, so it didn't feel like I was inheriting experience in that area. Maybe some reincarnation deity threw me a bone.
"Ojou-sama!" Lescia came calling for me as I was practicing sword swings.
"Ah Lescia?" I wiped the sweat off my forehead. "What is it?"
"Ojou-sama, you have a visitor."
"Eh, I didn't have anything scheduled today. Who is it?"
Lescia's lips quivered for a bit before she answered. "His Highness, the Second Prince Chrom."
"Did he come with Lumina?"
"No, he came alone."
My sword clattered on the ground as my mind went blank.
Eh?
Why the heck would that spoiled prince be here?! I was acquainted with him since he was Luminaria's twin, but it wasn't like we were close. We hung out in different social circles and had different interests.
Lescia shook my shoulders. "This isn't the time to be spacing out ojou-sama! You have to get changed!"
"Oh, ah, yeah!"
I let Lescia drag me to my room and pull me out of my exercise clothes. She quickly wiped away my sweat before stuffing me into a frilly dress, then hurried me to the guest room.
"My apologies for making you wait, Your Highness." I curtsied and bowed my head low.
"No it's okay." The prince waved his hand. Like his mother, his eyes were a cool blue, but his hair shone silver. "I saw what you were doing, it looked interesting."
"Geh?!" A weird sound came out of my mouth. Out of the corner of my eye I saw Lescia holding her forehead in her hand.
The prince chuckled. "I remember you asking for a knight to train you, but I didn't know that you were interested in swordsmanship enough to practice by yourself." A bright smile crossed his face as he propped his head up against his arm.
"I'm sorry for showing you something so unsightly of a lady," I said as I sat down on the sofa across from him.
"No, I think it makes you really interesting." His eyes were sparkling. "I would like it if we can practice together some time."
Did I just trigger some kind of flag? I don't want to go down a guy's route!
"If Your Highness wishes-"
"Please, call me Chrom."
I tried my hardest not to recoil in my seat. I deserve a reward for that, you know? "Then, if it would please you Chrom, I would be happy to practice with you."
Chrom beamed. "That would be great!"
I sipped some tea that Lescia prepared. "Anyways, for what business did you originally come here for, Chrom?"
"Oh right." Chrom clapped his hands. "To put it simply, won't you marry me?"
I felt like I was falling from a ten story building. Whyyyyyyyyyy?!
I frowned. "I'm sure a wonderful prince like you has no shortage of better girls to pick from. It would be a waste for you to be engaged to me."
"All the girls I've met have eyes that look like they're hunting me." Chrom leaned back in the sofa and put his hands behind his head.
"I-is that so," I asked innocently. Well yeah, in noble society a prince would be like premium foie gras at a buffet.
"I would rather be the hunter, you know." The prince winked.
Where the hell did an eight year old brat learn a line like that from! And Lescia, stop blushing, I can still see you from the corner of my eye!
My mouth twitched. "I-I see. With such an important decision like this, I believe that we should take more time to think about it."
"All right." Chrom stood up and walked out with his maid. "I'll be back soon, my princess," he said before closing the door.
Kiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii!
"Ojou-sama that's wonderful!" Lescia grabbed my hands. "To be engaged to a prince!"
"We're not engaged yet!" I whined.
"It's only a matter of time, Tia ojou-sama!" Lescia's eyes were sparkling.
I fell flat against the sofa like a dead fish. How did things turn out this way?!
