Destiny 2 has a lot going for it. But even with a seasoned developer, grand scope, and cooperative focus, the game just falls short of what I hoped it could be.
--Verdict--
Art: From the awe-inspiring set pieces to the excellent weapon and character design, Bungie’s previous experience with crafting beautiful sci-fi epics shows.
Gameplay: “Bad guy wants to do bad thing with good thing, so you should stop bad guy” first person shooter. Although the controls are tight, the story leaves a heck of a lot to be desired. At least you can play with friends (online only, sorry).
Replayability: Medium, I guess? As long as my season pass keeps giving me new content, I’m still in to try more.
Would I recommend? It’s not like Destiny 2 is a bad game – it’s just missing a certain sparkle that could have made it a great game. If you like online play with friends and don’t mind a bit of a grind, this might be the game for you. If you’re looking for a good new FPS to dive into, this wouldn’t be on the top of my recommendation list.
