I wake up to the sound of Mark's mom calling us down to breakfast. "Mark," I say as I tap on his shoulder. He doesn't budge so I start to shake his body. "It's time to get up."
"No... just one more minute."
"You said that three hours ago!" I start to laugh and push Mark off the bed.
"Ow, dude that hurt!"
"Well then, maybe you should of listened to me the first time."
Mark gets up from the floor and jumps on top of me.
"Mark, get off, it hurts." I say as tears start to form in my eyes.
"I'm so sorry Easton I totally forgot."
"It's fine... I was just surprised." I punch Marks shoulder and slide off the edge of the bed. I get ready for the day by throwing on some of Mark's oversized clothes.
"Damn, looking hawt as always!" Mark says teasingly while whistling.
"Shut up and get dressed, I can smell pancakes coming from downstairs." Mark hurries and throws on some sweats and races me downstairs.
"Good morning Ma." Mark says as he gives his mom a kiss on the check.
"Good morning honey, oh and I see we have a guest! Good morning Easton."
"Good morning Mrs. P!"
"I've told you a million times to just call me Mary or Ma."
I give her a dashing smile. "I like giving you the respect you deserve." Mrs. P blushes.
"Oh shut it and eat your breakfast."
I sit down laughing as Mrs. P hands me a plate full of pancakes. As she looks down at my face she notices the bruises.
"Easton! What happened to you face!"
I look at her wide eyed. "Um, I was playing with some friends and got a little out of hand."
"Be careful young man, one day you won't just end up with a few bruises."
"Yes and sorry."
"Oh don't apologize, just promise to be careful next time."
"I promise." I give her an apologetic smile and stuff my mouth full of pancakes. This whole time Mark was just sitting on the other side of the table indulging into his pancakes. After breakfast, I thank Mrs. P for the meal and follow Mark upstairs.
"Hey E, I was thinking about going out for a while. Do you wanna come."
"Yeah, sure, it's better than sitting here bored with your mother." I say teasingly.
"Shut up, my mom is a lovely lady."
"That's one way to describe her."
Mark punches me on the shoulder while laughing.
"I can just leave you her with her."
"No. No. I'm fine. I'll stop."
"Thank you." Mark gives me a dashing smile as he grabs his keys and heads out the door.
