“Nothing, so um what are we doing today?” Bradley asks and Stan’s face seems to light up, and actual emotion. Not to mention it was a positive one and happened during Bradley's therapy.
“Today is going to be your actual first therapy session.” Stand says clicking on his laptop in lightning speed, before turning it around to Bradley. “Do this survey for me please.”
It was like a slider, the far left was a lower percentage and the far right was a higher one. One question asked how Bradley feels today. The next asked about his relationship or feelings dealing with family, friends, coworkers and/or peers (from school/college). Lastly it asked about his general wellbeing. Bradley wasn't very sure what the difference was between the first and last question. But he didn't want to stay here any longer by asking Stan questions.
He put everything in the middle. Honestly he wasn't sure how he felt about any of these things. He handed turned the laptop around to face Stan. Stan looked over the screen, just as quick he looked at Bradley afterwards. He rose an eyebrow and Bradley rose one right back.
“What?” Bradley says.
“Everything is in the middle, why?” Stan asks clicking on something and closing the laptop slightly.
“I just feel meh about everything I guess, I don't know aren't you the therapist.” Bradley huffed and Stan chuckled.
“Indeed I am, but doesn't mean I know everything. Plus this is technically our first session, and I'm still getting to know you.” Stan explains.
“Yeah yeah, okay buddy now what?” Bradley asks looking around to find something to entertain himself.
“Well, let's start with some goals. From the packet you filled out it would seem you're just a normal person. That is possibly-” Stan starts to finish.
“And what is normal? Someone like you?” Bradley scoffed.
“No, I guess you're right. I asked that question also, what I mean is that it seems that you don't have issues at first if a person hasn't experienced your backlash from your anger. It seems your possibly unmotivated and maybe even depressed.” Stan explains while flipping through a notepad and the packet Bradley had to do.
“I think that's an understatement.” Bradley replied rolling his eyes.
“Well from what I saw in the packet it seems you might have issues with family.” Stan says more as a question than a statement as he clicks a pen.
“Not really, my sister and I are siblings so we drive each other crazy. Same with my other family members, driving each other crazy is normal as you might call it.” Bradley explains leaning back in the seat with a sigh.
“Well honestly from the packet I'm not really sure why you have anger issues, but that's okay. The more talking we do maybe I can figure it out.” Stan says closing the packet and flips some pages to what Bradley assumes is a clean page. “So I read you don't have a job, why is that? You even graduated early from both high school and college.”
“School was a pain.” Bradley grumbles to himself pinching the side of his head. “I did AP classes in high school and Dual Enrollment, that's how I graduated early.” he explains looking down at his shoes.
He rather not talk about school. He was so happy when he graduated college, finally the suffering was over. Or so he thought, getting a job was the next part. And he would be working for most of his life.
