She found him drawing at the garden this time.
“For a warrior, you sure like very weak things”
He huffed “Drawing and flowers do not make people weak, do not judge an old ripped scroll as you never know what strong words they hold”
She chuckled “Never thought a Savage would know of such saying”
The man looked at the sky and sighs “I am educated, you know- princess” he said irritated.
“Well your people weren’t educated enough to defeat us. Seriously who still uses spears in this age”
He smirked and looked at the princess “your police still uses spears”
She flushed “I’ve must admit you know quite a lot of my nation”
“Thank the emperor. Royal education was given to me since I came here. I must know these things if I want to leave this castle”
She cocked her head to one side “I just do not get why he puts great importance in you”
“He doesn't anyways how can I help you? My master has told me to entertain you”
She sat on the grass “I guess It can get pretty boring in this castle. How about…” She smiled
“We spar? See if you really are a good warrior as my father says”
The slave stood up and took out his sword which she was surprised that it was black as night.
“Sure princess, I’ve always dreamed of fighting you and-”
“Losing?” She took her sword out.
“I was going to say beating you” He ran towards her and their swords collided.
“You’re on savage”
And so Omisha began to spend her afternoons with the slave.
She found out his name was Tarkik.
Sometimes they fought, other times they just sat on the grass staring at the sky or when she was frustrated she came to him and told him how she felt.
She felt odd being with him because she was finally feeling peace.
Is this what it means? To feel peace?
--
Today 2 weeks after they met she had decided to bring him a book, she knew that Tarkik liked books so she was bringing him one of her favourite books.
“Hello Tarkik”
“Hello princess I see you brought a book”
She sat next to him, underneath the shade of the tree.
“For you, It’s my favourite book”
“The masters of the sky” he read the title. He opened the book and found a gruesome picture of a murder.
He quickly closed it. “What is it about?” He asked nervously.
“About how this killer killed all the people of this village but no one knows who he is”
He chuckled “weird title though”
“Oh you’ll see why the title fits perfectly with the story but no spoilers” She placed her index on her mouth “Shhh”
He smiled and looked down at the book again.
That’s when she noticed something on Tarkik’s neck.
“What is that?” His eyes widen and pulled his scarf closer to his neck.
“Nothing princess” She rolled her eyes and took the scarf off and saw a handprint around his neck. What was concerning was that Tarkik was brown so his bruises would be hard to spot and that meant that someone must of put a lot of pressure to leave a perfect handprint on his tan body.
“That is not nothing”
He smiled “You getting worried over a savage?”
She crossed her arms “What happened”
Sighing he placed the scarf back on “I just angered your father that’s all”
She acted like it didn't concern her as she acted annoyed “You should be smart enough to not anger my father. Next time just obey his orders and be mindful of your words”
He looked away “I’ll do that princess”
‘You have no Idea how much I try but it’s hard’ he thought to himself
