Princess Omisha couldn’t even approach Tarkik after that day since Ari insisted they spent more time together. When Tarkik didn't come when she sent a slave to fetch him she knew she was going to be the one to go find him.
Finally a night that she was free from Ari’s crazy activities she went to Tarkik’s room hoping to find him there but.. He wasn’t.
“Where did he go?” She asks herself.
When she leaves his room she finds herself at the center of the mansion where the large Oak tree stood.
She looked up “Could he be up there?” it would be a perfect hiding spot.
Grabbing a branch she started to climb and it was only until she was at the top of the tree did she find him.
“Hey” She whispered.
He didn’t look at her “I rather have some alone time”
“Don't You think you’ve been having your alone time since the past 2 days?” She goes closer.
“What do you want princess”
“To talk to you, I know why you are upset with me but they were just gladiators...their lives are…” She cringed at her words, she knew it sounded wrong.
“Meaningless? Gladiators are slaves Princess and what’s the difference between my life and theirs? Why do they have to die and not me?”
Omisha opened her mouth- “and don’t say it was because your father chose me, you have to understands that they are just like me, Slaves, and saying that their life has less value is like saying my life has less value as well or is that what you actually believe because from the days at the garden I thought we were becoming friends”
She places a hand on his shoulder “and we are...friends. I guess I’ve never thought of Gladiators and slaves like that until..”
“You actually bother to know one?”
Omisha cringed ‘ouch’ she thought.
“Yeah you are right it’s just that I’ve been raised like this”
Tarkik shook his head “well the best thing you can do now is not making excuses like the one you just gave me and start figuring out what to do to make things better”
She looked offended “Hey! I’m trying to be...different right now and you don’t seriously expect for me to get rid of slavery in all 3 nations”
He grabbed her hand and placed it on his heart “No but I ask for empathy, please Omisha I don’t want to see you again enjoying the pain of others especially if those others are innocent”
She felt guilty and ashamed to be confronted on this subject, part of her wanted to leave him here but the other part...said that slavery was bad.
“I-I promise that you that it won’t happen again and if it's empathy you ask then...maybe you can teach me”
He smiled “Gladly”
Staring at his eyes made her forget the world around her. Without hesitation and thought she leaned in and kissed him. Tarkik kissed her back but was quick to pull away.
He looked at her in horror “I-I have to go”
“Wait! I didn’t mea-where you going?”
He continued to climb down and Omisha yelled in frustration.
“Why do I keep screwing things up?!”
