(Power Up)
As Ava slowly walked back to the battle, orb tucked between her left arm and her side, she tried to think of what to do next. As she kept walking, she noticed something out of the corner of her eye. Before she could turn to look, she heard a faint “Watch out!” and soon was face-down on the ground with a black cat, tummy-up, on top of her. She rolled over and the cat slid of her back. The cat transformed back into Sarah. They looked at each other.
“Sorry ‘bout that...” Sarah started sheepishly. There were a few seconds of stunned silence between the two before Ava replied with,
“It’s...okay...” They stood there for a few more awkward seconds until Sarah looked around and said,
“Where’s the orb...!?” The two looked around. The orb was no where to be found. Anxiety starting to rise up in both of the girls’ stomachs, they frantically looked around. Finally, they saw where it had rolled to—it had rolled all the way over to Sage, and Glympse had seen. So had Shadow. So, the three of them were now fighting for the orb. First Glympse had it, then she threw it over to Shadow, who dropped it, because Sage had electrocuted him, and then picked it up. She saw both Ava and Sarah standing over at the other side of the court. She thought for a moment and hastily decided to throw it over to them.
“Catch!” She quickly yelled, as she tossed over the orb. Ava was still distracted with watching Shadow and Glympse, but Sarah saw the orb coming right at them. So, she sighed and tried to catch it. She ran forwards and dove to catch it. Luckily, she had managed to catch it without it cracking. She stood up, brushed herself off (very carefully), and walked back over to Ava to hand her the orb. Ava looked at her, slightly surprised and let the orb roll into her hands. She looked around and saw John back at his car.
“Hmm...he must be trying to find a place for the orb...” Ava thought to herself. As the two girls stood there, trying to figure out where they could put the orb without it falling, breaking or getting taken, Sage had started to walk over to them. (After she had electrocuted both Shadow and Glympse enough times that they just sat there with stunned looks on their faces.) By now, the orb had started to glow a slightly more vibrant shade of violet. Once Sage had gotten over to them, the orb was starting to glow brighter and brighter. Sage stopped right in her tracks. The other two girls just stared at her with confused and slightly scared looks.
“Uhhh...” Sage started, “What’s happening?” But no one could answer her question, because before she had asked her question, the orb was glowing a bright blue and purple. Now, it was not only glowing (no longer purple or blue, but white!), but it was pulsing as well. This surprised Ava, who was currently holding the orb, and nearly made her drop it. Both Sage and Sarah saw this and tried to help catch it. That did it—with the three girls all now touching the orb, it began to glow brighter and brighter, and the pulsing turned into a low hum. It did this for a few seconds. Suddenly, there was a loud cracking boom and the three girls were filled with a weird energy. It pulsed through every nerve and vein in their bodies.
Shadow and Glympse turned to look, a look of pure anger and fear filled their eyes. They tried to get up, but with the amount of times Sage had electrocuted them, their bodies were still numb, and would not move. So, they were paralyzed, only temporarily, right where they sat. Meanwhile, John was at his car looking back at the three girls with a look of concern and excitement. He started walking away from his car and over to the three girls.
