“Eve, I…” Just then, Bliss paused. She quickly rummage through her backpack. “They took my coin bag.”

“What?”

“They took my coins!” Flashes of worry clouded Bliss’s blue eyes, she quickly ran after the two kids.

“Wait!” Eve cried, following after her.

With her luggage in hands, Bliss tried to catch up to the two kids to no avail. As she see the distance between them are getting farther and farther, Bliss bites her lower lip, picking up the pace. She cannot loses the money, she needs the coins to live in the capital and the coins are her grandparents’ hard-earn money.

A blue bird flew passed her, flying straight for the two kid. One of the kid saw the bird and threw rocks at it, trying to chase the bird away. The bird easily dodge all the rocks, then the kid threw the trash can lid at the bird.

Bliss stretches out her hand, stopping the lid of the trash can before it can hit the bird, with a wave it flew back to the trash can. The two kids are shock, their jaw-dropped when the bird transformed into Eve.

Eve smirked, grabbing their shirts. “Gotcha!” She grabs the coin bag from the older kid, tossing it over to Bliss in a swift motion.

Bliss yelped, running forward to catch the coin bag.

“I’m taking you two to the police, we can’t have two thieves running around the city.” Eve said, her sharp green eyes glance at the two kids. “Even if you both are just children.”

“No please!”

“Please don’t hand us over to the police.”

The two kid struggles to break free, but Eve had a hard grip. “Well, you two should have think of the consequences before you stole people’s belongings.”

Tears stream down their faces, Bliss could see that they are really scared.

“Eve, wait.” She said.

Eve tilted her head in confusion. Bliss sighed, kneeling down to the children’s eye level.

“What’s your name?” She asked.

The older kid scoffed and look to the other side ignoring Bliss. Bliss let out a soft smile and turned towards the other kid, asking the same question.

The younger one, hold onto his brother’s arm, looking at Bliss timidly. But, looking at Bliss’s bright blue eyes, for some odd reasons; he don’t think Bliss will harm him.

“Jamie.”

“Jamie!” The older kid yelled at little Jamie, fist balled up.

Bliss pat Jamie on the head, “Jamie, can you tell me why you guys wanted the money? Are you guys hungry? Because stealing is not the right way, it will caused trouble to people and not to mention yourself.” Bliss said softly.

Jamie shake his head, “We want to save our sister!” He cried.

“Jamie!”

Bliss exchange a glance with Eve. Then, direct her attention to the older boy. “Can you tell us what happen?”

Things just took a different direction from what they imagined, a normal theft just transformed into something more serious. Looking at the two boys, Eve know they’re not lying to get themselves off the hook. The worry in their expression is legit.

The older boy look at Bliss, then at Eve. He was about to shoot them with a hard comeback but for some reason looking at the concerned girls, he felt that he can trust them. He doesn’t know whether they’re able to help them or not, but they’re magic users. Maybe...just maybe they can really help them.

“My name is Jon.” He started to explain everything to the girls.

Jon and his family lives in the poorer area of Arcane City, even though they are not rich but their father who is a fisherman are still able to provide them with food and shelter. Hence, they never suffer from hunger. 

Jon have a beautiful sister, Jon had always been proud of his sister’s beauty and his sister is also really good at housework. Now, Jon rather his sister have a more normal appearance than being a stunning beauty if he knew the consequences of what her beauty will bring to the family. It is that one time her sister-Lamira went to the dock, bringing lunch for her father. She attracted that man with her beauty and their nightmare starts.

“He took our sister, he said if we want Lamira back, we need to pay back that huge debt.” Jon said, anger laced his words, fist balled up. “That man, he tricked dad, he tricked all of us.”

“Why haven’t you guys went to the police?” Eve asked.

Jon scoffed. “The police? The chief is on his side.”

Eve’s eyes widen in disbelief, how can this kind of thing happen right under the Hedley house’s nose and they doesn’t know anything about it? This kind of corruption and injustice. She cannot accept this. She glances at Bliss, Bliss’s eyes glued to the ground, her head lowered.

“Bliss, we can report this to the Hedley house. They can settle this situation, you cannot miss your train.” Eve muttered.

Bliss glances up, shaking her head. “No. I cannot sit by and just leave knowing that someone is in trouble.”

Looking at Eve, she smiled. Eve sighed, “We’re going to save Lamira aren’t we?”

Bliss stood up, dusting her dress. She glances at the boys, then back at Eve with a big smile.

“Yup!” She nods.
