Also, it's kinda tragic in a sense. Paulina must not have many IRL friends; specifically, girl friends. Since we know her skill level is top tier, it's unlikely the gameplay is what captivated her, and instead, the banter with Serena.
Granted, she could be scheming, but I think it's at least partially a lonely life.
