Kenan also worked part-time at Blue’s Cafe. He needed the extra money and he loved making coffee. And also just working at the till made it an easy job plus an easy way to make money.
Kenan couldn't stop thinking about Cairo, he was trying to figure out how he was going to work in the same space as somebody whom he had been very very intimate with in the past.
Kenan wondered if the best way of approaching the situation was speaking to Cairo and trying to clear the air. Maybe just by asking him if he remembered who he was. After all, if he didn't then it meant that whatever happened in the past meant nothing to him and obviously, it wasn't supposed to mean anything. What they did that time was only for money.
It was a slow day at work for Kenan. Many people didn't come to the coffee shop past 8 p.m. Kenan stood there and stared at the empty seats around the cafe. Suddenly Cairo walked in and he went straight to the counter.
“Hello what can I get you today,” Kenan asked trying not to look surprised that it was Cairo who was standing right in front of him.
“ Just a jelly doughnut please” Cairo replied
“Okay,” Kenan said as he punched it into his till.
Kenan grabbed his order and while handing it back to Cairo Kenan went on and said
“You know I feel like we've met before,” Kenan said, “ back when I think it was….”
“ No! we have never met before. We met for the first time at the gathering. If you dare mention anything false il make sure you don't earn any credit on your project so keep your mouth shut.” Cairo replied sternly and then walked out of the cafe.
