Attention Jade Tate

Chapter 5 (Part Two)

Chapter 5 (Part Two)

Mar 04, 2019

A love square! Are you kidding me? How did this even happen? Alright, who is pulling my leg? Come on, I know you are out there.

“Darleen, I…”

“I know, you like Jade.” She rolls her eyes.

I nod.

“Well I just thought I’d let you know, there are other, better, more responsive fish in the sea. Some even right here, right in front of your face.”

“Okay, uh, thanks for pointing that out. I should go.”

“I’ll walk you to your door.”

“You don’t have to.”

“I want to.”

So she walks me to the door.

“Um, things aren’t going to be weird between us right? I get that you like someone else, but I still want to be your friend.” She says.

“Okay.” I avoid her eyes.

“You’re really adorable.” She smiles.

“Thank you?”

She grabs my chin and kisses me again. What the hell? Okay so she knows I like someone else and yet she still kisses me!? And she still wants to be normal friends!? Um, I don’t think it works that way.

But god her lips are so warm. The invisible hands of Lust are holding me in place. I’ve never really kissed anyone but Jade before. My heart is pumping out love and pumping in curiosity and lust. My brain has shorted out and shut off.

My lips move against hers. She pushes me against the door and deepens the kiss. She tastes like strawberries. I open my eyes, caught in a lustful trance, that's when I see her. Jade! Watching us through her window. I quickly push Darleen off.

“Wow, that was wow,” Darleen says breathlessly.

“I didn’t, we shouldn’t, I was just…”

“Shh, see you tomorrow.” She pecks me one last time before going back to her car.

Tomorrow? Wait… The track meet! I almost forgot.

I quickly walk inside.

Oli was spying on me through the window. She saw me kissing a girl! We make eye contact.

“Don’t tell mom.” Are the first words out of my mouth.

“You like girls?” she says confused.

I nod.

“Weird, okay.” She shrugs before running up the stairs to her room.

Phew, crisis averted, for now. I go to my own room and look out my window. Immediately I am blinded by a laser shining right in my eyes. I have to cover my face. When it finally stops I look to Jade, she looks pissed.

I feel my shadow strangling me yelling at me, “you big freakin idiot! Now she thinks you like Darleen! What a moron! This is what you get for being a horny teenager!”

I walk back downstairs and look around for my mom, she must be taking a nap. So I walk out and over to Jade’s house.

She opens the door for me and drags me up to her room.

“What was that!?” she demands, slamming the door behind her.

I shrug and avoid eye contact.

“You’re gay?”

I shrug again.

“Why didn’t you tell me? I’ve been like insulting you this whole time by calling lesbians lesbo’s and gross. I am so sorry. I had no idea. Please don’t hate me.” she says.

Hate her? What? Um rewind, she’s okay with it?

“Of course I’m okay with it, we are best friends.” She says reading my facial expression.

“Really?”

“Yes, you should have told me.” she pouts.

“I didn’t know how. I thought you would freak out.”

“I am freaking out, how could you keep this from me? hello!? We tell each other everything. No wonder why you freaked out when I asked you about the party, you freaken made out with Darleen Grayson! Are you two secretly dating?”

“What, no! Never, we were just messing around, you know like teenagers do. I don’t like her like that, it was just a few kisses. Between friends, for practice.” I cringe at myself.

“Practice?” she eyes me.

“Yeah, you know, so that way I can be ready for the real thing. Hehe.”

“So you practice like that with anyone?” she smirks.

“Uh, only the people I feel comfortable with.”

What am I doing!? Abort, abort! In too deep! Crud!

“Are you comfortable with me?”

I nod like a bobble head.

“Then maybe we could practice.” She says.

“Okay.” I say too quickly.

She pushes me down on the bed and crawls on top of me.

*Ba dumb, ba dump, da dump*

This is wrong, I shouldn’t do this, I shouldn’t lie to her. Especially when I like her as way more than a friend I would use for practice. I put my hands on her shoulders to push her away, but it’s too late she smashes her lips into mine.

A rainbow explosion is set off in me. If my body were to be cracked open, rainbow glitter blood would pour out.

I close my eyes and lean into the kiss. She kisses me again and again, then slowly her hands go to my face and she holds me just like she did that night. Then it clicks to me, she remembers the feel of my lips! She’s seeing if I was the one she kissed that night. Mega crud!

She pulls back, a confused expression on her face.

I open my mouth to say something, but nothing comes out. I just look wide eyed at her, my face is on fire.

Then silently she feels my face with her hands, slowly running her fingers all over my cheeks. I just watch her silently. My heart playing my ear drum as if it was an actual drum. She narrows her eyes at me.

“It was you.” She says.

“Jade I can explain.” I sit up.

“Why didn’t you say anything?”

“I wanted to, but you surprised me. And I didn’t know what to do, then Darleen saw us and I freaked out. I thought you would freak out too, I know I should have said something, done something, anything, but I was scared. Don’t hate me, I’m so sorry.”

“This whole time, you knew.”

“I, I, I, I’m sorry.”

“Why did you kiss me at the party?” she asks.

“I don’t know.” I lie.

“Was it for practice?”

I shake my head no.

“Then why?”

Just tell her! You can do it! Now or never.

“I, I was curious.” No! fail! Why did I say that, fuck, shit, crud.

“Curious, as in you just wanted to know what it felt like to kiss a girl?”

I nod.

“You should have told me.” she frowns.

“Jade, I’m sorry.”

“Honestly Skylar, we are best friends. I wouldn’t have freaked out if I found out It was you. Just don’t lie to me okay. I don’t like it. But now that we got that all figured out, where were we?” She smirks.

Huh?

She leans in and kisses me again.

“Jade.” I quickly push her off.

“What? Don’t you want to give into your curiosity? It’s okay we are just friends it doesn’t mean anything.”

Welp, just kill me now I guess. Rip my heart out through my chest why don’t you.

“Okay.” I said.

“Atta girl.” She smiles before leaning in again.

Her hair falls in her face and I get a big whiff of her green apple shampoo. Her body is a star, radiating cosmic heat. Each kiss gives me a tiny little taste of what it could be like if she were to be taking me seriously, if I could kiss her in truth and not lies. I know I should stop before I am in too deep. But she has awakened this urgent fire in me. A desperate thirst only she can quench.

My hands are possessed and they move like there is a string attaching me to her and she has pulled it. I grab her by the hair, wringing my fingers through and grabbing a hard handful, pulling her closer. My other hand slowly and softly feels her hip, slowly moving up her shirt.

I hear her repress a gurgled moan in her throat. Her hands touch my face, then my neck, then even lower. When I gasp into her mouth her tongue darts in without permission. Not that it needed it. Our tongues dance the tango and I can taste the ghost of her fruity gum she must have gotten rid of it before I came over.

I can feel her start to pull away and a pathetic whimper escapes my lips before I force her into another kiss. I feel floaty and bubbly, like I am drunk on Jade Tate. And maybe I am. She finally forcefully pulls back.

Her eyes are wide and she is breathing with her mouth open, as if we have just come back from a jog. Her face is a bright red. She looks so cute all hot and bothered. But I took it too far, I know I did. That wasn’t practice or curiosity, that was passion and love, maybe lust too.

“What was that?” She moves off of me.

“Jade.”

“What the hell was that!?” she turns to me.

“Just curiosity.” I lie.

“That did not feel like you were kissing for just curiosity. That was…”

“Jade, it was. I promise. I know you like Archer.”

“Do you? I just want to be clear here, I don’t like you like that. We are just friends, and if things are going to get confusing then we shouldn’t do this.”

“I’m not confused, are you?” I ask.

“W-what? No. I just, I wasn’t. Ugh! I’m not confused!”

“Okay. Sorry. I’ll go.” I got up.

“Wait, Skylar.”

I turn to her.

“Don’t tell anyone about this. And I’m sorry I yelled at you. We’re still friends right?”

I nod.

“Good, um you’re a good kisser.”

Yes! I knew it! I did it! I kissed Jade Tate, on purpose! Woohoo! I’m on top of the world!

“You are too. Goodnight.” I smile.

“N-night.” She blushes and avoids my gaze.

She’s so cute.

I wonder, do I have your attention now Jade?
