Nick stomped across the hall letting his anger flow inside him. With all his self control he kept his eyes and teeth human to keep up his appearance.

Seeing Shay happy with another man didn't sit well with both Nick and his wolf. They didn't care what promise they had given Shay before. 

At this very moment the only thing in their mind was to take Shay away from the man and get her into his own.

When he got near an auditory range he could hear Shay giggling and taking to the man now half dancing to the waltz which was being played. 

" .... still angry with you daddy. How could you lie to me like that."

"Sorry sweetheart, It was your mother's idea. I didn't try to stop her because I too really wanted to see you." 

The man smiled at her kissing her forehead.

Daddy? Wait does that mean? and then it sank in to Nicks mind. Shit is that Shays dad?

Nick froze at the thought that he was about to rip the head off his future father in law, out of jealousy.

'Damn. That was close' Nick mumbled to his wolf. 'She calls her father Daddy. So adorable. I wonder when we can make her call us that too.' Nick was becoming a helpless fool when it came to Shay.

'Doesn't matter, take her out of his hands now. Father or not she is ours' His wolf still angry grumbled.

'Fine but you behave. We almost lost our heads for a second there.' Nick wasn't aware that he could ever be such a pity of a human to get as low as getting jealous of a father daughter dancing together.

Calming himself down he walked towards them. Right when Shay sensed him, she started tensing up and whispered something into her dads ears.

His dads face now changed to to an oddly serious one. He slowly kept Shay down next to him.

When Nick finally reached them, noticing him

"Alpha Nick, its a pleasure to see you after a long time" 

Shays dad said with a smile, bringing them to a handshake.

"Hello Mr Finley the pleasure is all mine. How are you doing? I was informed you were feeling unwell. Is your health alright now?" 

Nick returned the gesture glancing at Shay with a smile.

The man in front of him was the same height of Nick, a 6 9" and had a well trained buff body. His toned abs were visible even under the tuxedo he was wearing. He looked around 30 rather than the mans' actual age which was a 52.

It was not surprising that it never occurred to Nick that this man could be Shays father. He was a very good looking and a handsome man.

Since the Finley family lived in a separate brick bungalow which was a little away from the pack apartments Nick had hardly seen them. And not to disappoint his view the whole family screamed of elegance.

Shays mother was as tall as Shay and had a very slender body. She had deep black hair and unusual hazel eyes with a hint of amethyst in it.

"Oh Sorry to worry you Alpha Nick, It was a little prank done by my wife to get this naughty little brat home. Of Course alpha Johns was in on it too." 

he laughed glancing at his wife and pulling Shay close to him. His wife gave Nick a wide smile and hugged the mans other hand.

"Don't worry about it Mr Finley. I'm glad you are in good health" 

Nick replied politely.

Nick and Shays family was still in the middle of the dance floor, realizing this they walked toward the end of the floor not to disturb the other couples who were dancing.

"Thank you Alpha Nick. Thank you for getting Shay the documents she needed. I hope the little brat didn't cause you any problems" 

the man smiled giving a glance at his daughter.

"No No of course not. I had a nice time meeting her yesterday." 

glancing at the pouting Shay he replied breaking into a smile.

Now looking at his wife,

"Why don't we go for another dance Anna? Shay and Alpha Nick could have a dance together too." 

he said tugging Shay who was practically hiding behind his large body again to the front.

"Sure why not. But let me apologize now it self Alpha Nick, You will have to forgive my daughter for her bad dancing" 

snickering the mother replied.

"Muuuuuuuuuum." 

the red faced Shay screamed in a low voice. 

"I don't want to dance with him anyway." 

She added.

"Sweety don't be rude now. Go along and dance. Let us enjoy the party a little more before we drag your little ass back home." 

her mum replied with a smile on her face pinching Shays cheek.

Nick was utterly thankful towards Anna for how kind she was being. Knowing how stubborn Shay could be he knew she would never dance with him even if he begged.

Smiling widely 

"Come on Shay. Lets dance, I'll help you out if you are in trouble" 

 he reached his arm out to reach her unwilling hand.

"Fine, just one dance and don't worry, it will be me who'll help you out" 

She snapped.

After looking at them with amused faces Shays parents decided to walk away to the dance floor and started waltzing together. 

It was a beautiful sight to behold since they looked extraordinarily elegant and perfectly synced with each other. All the partners with Mates had the same aura but these two went beyond that.

Taking Shays hand Nick pulled her closer. When he kept her left hand on his shoulder, He couldn't help but notice the wooden ring she was wearing on her ring finger making his wolf growl. 'Simmer down, we'll remove that soon enough' Nick mumbled to his angry counterpart.

Now focusing only on Shay Nick wrapped his right arm around her waist to pull her close. Entwining their other hands together they started to waltz. Shay kept her face down hiding it in his chest. Unlike her mothers comment, Shay was a very good dancer.

"You look absolutely beautiful doll" 

Nick whispered to her ear.

With a full on blush now she looked up with a very amused look.

"Your fiancee, Isn't she here?" 

she asked softly with her eyes looking around discretely.

"She is but that doesn't matter now that you are here" 

Nick whispered again. He knew him being this close was affecting Shay. And just as before Her whole body shuddered to his voice. 

He couldn't help but tighten his arm around the small frame bringing them impossibly closer.

Shay decided to not respond now and look down hiding her cherry red face in his chest. 

They danced with their bodies tied together making Nick enjoy every single minute of it. Right when the song ended, 

"I need to sit" 

she said still heavily blushing.

She was impossibly adorable. Without saying a word Nick took her to the table nearby and pulled the chair out so she could sit.

"Thanks" 

Right when he was about to inquire if Shay was feeling alright as she suddenly wanted to sit, a familiar figure grabbed his hand. 

"Nick, Can I talk to you for a second? Alone?"

Rosy edged the last words standing next to him. 

"Oh sure Rose, Do you need something?" 

Nick was confused by her sudden appearance but he still gave his full attention to Shay.

"Yes I need something. Come" 

She demanded now rolling her eyes. Nick knew from his past experiences that Rosy rolling her eyes were never a good sign.

"Fine, lets go" 

Nick had totally forgotten that he had an audience around him since he was so focused on Shay.

Giving Shay another glance 

"I'll be back so you stay right where you are" 

he added to the girl who was looking at them with a slightly curious eyes.

Not letting Shay to reply Rosy dragged him away to the other corner of the hall which was almost empty since most of the crowd were either dancing or hitting the bar.

"What the hell was that?" 

She hissed still a smile on her face. Nick knew Rosy was smiling only because of the audience they had. Her tone however was extremely angry and annoyance radiated from her.

She must have tries to mind link yet was unable to since Nicks wolf spirit had being solely concentrating on his Mate ignoring everything else. Even now his mind only wondered about Shay.

"What was what?" 

Not understanding her question he asked.

"Are you kidding me Nick? Who the hell was that bitch? and why were you waltzing around with someone else when your girlfriend is here?"

Nicks wolf decided to let a small by an angry growl at the words of Rosy's. Not only she took them away from their mate, now she dared to insult her?

He will tolerate anyone insulting his precious little doll.

His sudden anger made Rosy's face go pale, making her to shut her mouth with widened eyes.

"I will explain afterwards. I'm Sorry if it didn't sit well with you" 

Nick replied composing himself after giving Rosy's complaint a thought.

He was not in a mood to argue or explain now and while he was away who knew how many males were ogling at his adorable doll. 

The only thing he wanted now was to go back to Shay and stand guard her.

He knew asking Shay to change into something longer was literary impossible so the man at least wanted to stay beside her and protect her from all evil glances except for his own of course.

"Fine. But you are sticking with me now. Everyone in the pack knows I'm your fiancee Nick. It's embarrassing when you go and dance with someone else so intimately"

To his dismay Rosy had a point. He had forgotten himself at the presence of Shay. And to make matters worse there were many more people other than Rosy who were focused on Nicks movements.

Nick was already guilty knowing he will be leaving her soon so the least he could do is to be nice to the girl for the time being.

"Fine" 

was the only reply Nick could give. Now turning around to see Shay still at the same place he left her sipping on a drink slowly a waiter had served her, he started walking with Rosy's hand tightly holding on to his arm.

However to make Nicks life harder now a tall blond came towards Shay and practically pulled her out of the chair. 

Giving her a peck on the cheek he hugged Shay with a bright smile in his face. And to hurt Nick even further Shay hugged the guy back with her eyes twinkling and kissed him in return.

Growl. Nick couldn't help himself. This was not a sight he was happy to see. Rosy was looking at him with a bewildered look. He couldn't help but quickening his pace making Rosy drag along.

The man Shay was with was 5 9" blond with light blue eyes. He wore a luxurious Ash tuxedo showing off his slim but athletic built. 

Nicks eyes went to the man's left hand now resting over Shays shoulder awaiting them to arrive only to notice he had the same ring on his ring finger matching Shays.

Looking at Nick now, the man brought his right arm out for a shake 

"Good evening. You must be Alpha Nick, I'm Jasper Negro, Shays Husband. Its a pleasure to meet you"

The man voiced in a thick British accent.
