I decided to stick around. Maybe I could find something else by exploring the places I hadn't checked yet, this was the thought that followed my steps as I advanced towards the walls that held the door and walked past the block that they formed.
It was the smell of leaves, of fresh greenery and dirt, that I noticed first. Then, came the sound of running water. I had arrived inside what seemed to be the miniature version of a garden. There was light illuminating the plants, the bushes, and the grass that was currently being squashed under my feet.
I liked it here, and for an instance, I could forget about the blood, the gun—I could forget about having forgotten who I was. I laughed, because the irony of my wishes was not lost on me; and I walked again, towards the pond dug deep within the middle of the garden, hoping to find something, hoping to find truth amidst shadows that once were alive but were now reduced to tiny little black dots against shades of nature due to the spotlight above, which I assumed kept this garden alive.
I got down on my knees. I grasped at the gun just in case.
