It was a new day. I stepped out of a taxi, I took a deep breath and put my hands on my hips. “This place is so beautiful!” I stood outside my new apartment building, the movers had pulled up behind the taxi. I paid the taxi driver and walked up to the apartment doors. I prop the doors open as I see the movers pulling out my couch from the truck. I walk to the elevator and press the up button.

The doors open and I step in, I press the button for the 16th floor. The doors close and I wait. The elevator stops at the 10th floor and a man walks in. He presses the lobby floor. He stands next to me, it was a bit awkward. The 16th floor comes at last. I walk off and the elevator doors shut again. I walk to my new apartment. I stand outside the door and hold the key in my hand. The door had the numbers “164” on it, the door was a beautiful dark brown wood. I take the key and put it in the lock, and unlock the door. I open the door as wide as I can and walk into my new studio apartment.

I smile, not long after walking in the movers walk in. I tell them where they can put the couch, for now, they compliment my new apartment. “Thanks, it was so beautiful I just had to get it. For now, let's get the rest of the stuff up here and I'll make you guys lemonade!” The movers' smile and we all head back downstairs. About 30 minutes of going back and forth between the truck and my apartment, a young girl come walking towards the apartment building. I was standing outside the apartment building doors when she began to walk towards me. She had on a black business skirt and white blouse. She had on black 4-inch heels and a beautiful heart-shaped necklace around her neck. Her hair was blonde and her eyes were blue. I blushed a bit at her but then quickly looked away when I felt my heart beating. I composed myself and grabbed one of my boxes that were close by.

When I turned around she was already in the building. I walk in and towards the elevator where she was waiting. I stood next to her. The doors open and we both walk in. She turns to me and smiles “What floor?” I blush slightly as her voice was soft but sour in a way. “The 16th floor please” she pressed the button and looked back at me.

“So you’re the new tenant?” she smiled. I nodded and smiled back at her

“Yes, my name is Kate. I would shake your hand but…” I giggle a bit and so does she

“Funny. My name is Lauren”

“Nice to meet you Lauren”

“Likewise”

The elevator doors open and we walk out. I stop in front of my apartment. “Well, see you around neighbor” I smirked and turned to the door across from mine, she pulled out a key and unlocked the door.

“See you around.” She walked into her apartment.

I was dumbfounded, a cute girl lives across from me. I smile and walk into my apartment. “This is going to be great”.
