“SQUAK, SQUAK!”
A crow was in the distance, but It was like I was right beside it.
“Ahhhh.” I stretched. It was a Saturday morning I’m pretty sure. I don’t remember much and I think Florida’s times are different then New York. Now I really needed to get moving if I’m going to find my sister. It was say maybe 5:15 when I started walking. Man was I tired. I wonder what my sister is doing right now and what my brother is doing. Is he doing okay? Is he hurt? Is he safe? Is he still alive? All these questions were coming to my mind but I didn’t understand why. Is this what it feels like to be an outsider? An outcast? I saw a small town just up ahead. There was a sign that said “Welcome to Grinburo!” This was odd to me. What is Grinburo? Why is that a place in Florida? It sounds like it should be in Texas. The land of the no goods which I think is in Miami.
“Huh? I wonder why this place is so green?” I said to myself.
“Well this isn’t like New York young boy. This is Grinburo! We are the greenyist people you will ever know! Welcome boy.” A small man said
I jumped not knowing who said that.
“You! Who are you?” I asked.
“Your Zach right?”
“Ummm, yes why?”
“I get an update on those or get casted away. To bad to be apart of the most hated god.”
“Shut up!”
“Calm down boy. My name is Benu. I’m a dwarf”
“That explains!”
Now when I said that, that might of been the worst idea ever. I just said something so mean and I thought I was going to get my butt kicked. I closed my eyes and when I opened them he was just laughing.
“Uhhh why are you laughing?” I asked.
“What! Young boy! Haha! Okay listen.” Benu said.
“Listen to what?”
“Well young boy, your sister sent me. She had a weird signal and she knew you were here Zach. Your sister loves you very much.” Benu replied.
I was so happy deep down I didn’t know how to think, speak, walk. I could just think about my sister. How did she know I was here?!
“Can you take me to her?” I said with joy.
“Ummm, about that. I don’t know how to get back.” Benu replied. Benu slowly sanked his head and I began to boil with anger. I felt like yelling at him but I didn’t. I just stood there shaking my head back and forth. I turned away from him and sat beside a tree. I was so thirsty. I needed something to drink.
“Here you go boy. I am sorry.” Benu said as he gave me a cup of water.
“Thanks.” I mumbled.
“How about this. I know some people in the village with a map and they may be able to help us but we will need something to trade.” Benu replied.
“I don’t need your help dwarf!” I said boldy.
“I know, but please let me help you.” Benu said.
“Ugh Fine!”
“Thank you Zach.”
Well I guess it is now time to to see if I can find my sister. I had nothing to trade besides the gem that my so called father gave me. I had it hidden because if anyone saw this I was not going anywhere. It is time to go into the village and get looking.
“Alright then. Lets go.” I said.
