Chopin's Penny (A Love Story in History)

A Composer's Countermeasure

A Composer's Countermeasure

Mar 25, 2019

Frederic Chopin let out a sigh.

It was his only moment of reprieve, to gain his breath before he continued to split the firewood.

Even though it was early summer, the weather in Poland can be bitterly unpredictable. One day, it could be 26 degrees of sunshine.

10 Days, it could be -30 degrees of flash snow storms. God knows.

Not to mention, the house didn't just support his family of a mother, father, and two little sister (one older sister is studying abroad). There was also the 10+ school boys who live in the same unit as him.

So his responsibility as man of the house encompasses about 12 or so people.

This didn't include a lovely Witch Girl who was sitting on a barrel, eating cookies and shortcake. And there were good reason as to why.

"... Penny."

"Don't look at me with those judging eyes, Chop-Chop. I'm physically working by balancing my body on this old barrel and keeping you company. I know you're dirt poor to pay for my honest wages, so I'm compensating for snacks."

"................... I made them for my little sisters. It's a surprise."

"Well surprise mother fu--"

"Penny. Please stop eating those cream cheese cookies and go to your room."

"What? I'm not cold. This nip in the air isn't exactly Iceland you know."

"No. I meant go to your room and reflect on your evil deeds."

"W-when did this beautiful Witch become the villain in this story!?"

Frederic Chopin wished he could frown, but due to his body being worn down from throwing around the double edged axe against the horse of wooden logs, he lost his strength.

All he could do was stare at this self-proclaimed beautiful woman wearing a Witch Hat and Robe. With long fluffy blonde hair and sparkling blue eyes, she truly looked like someone of English Blood...

... You know, that country of a certain legendary king who goes around swinging his magical sword around like a violent baseball bat.

"Frederic Chopin. Why are you glaring at me with those cruel eyes, hm?"

"Sorry. I'm calculating how much food I needed to cut from your rations to make up for my little sisters' losses."

"...............I'll shut up now. (TxT)."
