On an ordinary day, I would bake cookies and cakes the way the instruction label tells me to. On an ordinary day, I would put on a fake smile with every customer to make myself seem friendlier than I am so maybe the new customers would visit again. Heck, I'd even throw in an extra cookie to seal the deal.
But today is not an ordinary day. In fact, there's nothing normal about today.
Today, the boy of my dreams has ordered 100 cupcakes for a party he's throwing for his whole soccer team. His name is Drew Karlsson, A Foreign Exchange student from Sweden with curly strawberry blond hair, blue eyes, and a gorgeous accent.
I arrived at the bakery way earlier than I was supposed to. I almost skipped school because of this. I mean, it's not every day your true love walks into your place of business.
Next, I start getting everything ready for baking. Making sure I have enough of everything to make the cupcakes perfect. My Family has the best bakery in town with award-winning cupcakes and cookies and I'm going to make sure he comes back for more!
Once everything was made, I put a small knot on the top of the cupcake box that said, MADE BY ANNA Just so he knows who made them.
As the time got closer for him to arrive, my heart started to race. I can't believe he's affecting me this way. Could this be more than a crush? Could this be love?
All of a sudden, I heard the door open and there he was. All 6"4 of him. Gosh, He's beautiful.
"Hello." He says with a smile.
"Hey." I say back, struggling to get the words out "You ordered 100 cupcakes?"
"Yes I did," He says, I could hear a faint accent. " Hey! I know you, you're in my Chemistry class."
Oh. My. Gosh! He knows who I am!
"I didn't know you worked here," He says excitedly. " I always to thought you were the prettiest girl in class."
Am I dreaming? He's talking to me in my bakery and says he thinks I'm pretty! I've gotta be dreaming.
"I'm having a party later on, and I was wondering if you wanted to come?" He asked, his smile can cure any disease known to man.
"Uh, of course, I would."
"Great!" He says excitedly," I'll be sure to my mom to you're coming, and that you made the cupcakes."
Next, he picks up the box starts for the door. "See you later, Anna"
I wave as the door closes behind him.
And just like that, he was out of my bakery, now in my life.
I don't know where this party will lead. Will we talk more and he'll ask me out? or does he want to be just friends? All I know is, he knows me as the girl with the cupcakes. And I'm perfectly okay with that.
